I read this one on the Magic Homepage:

    Turn 1: Mountain
    Turn 2: Mountain, Izzet Guildmage
Turn 3: Mountain, Seething Song for {2R} and put RRRRR in your mana pool. Play Lava Spike for {R} and splice Desperate Ritual {1R} onto the Lava Spike. With the two remaining RR PLAY the Desperate Ritual, let it resolve and put RRR into your mana pool. With the original Lava Spike still on the stack, use the RRR in your pool from the actual Desperate Ritual you played and activate Izzet Guildmages second ability that makes a copy of a sorcery you control {2R} and target the original Lava Spike with the spliced text. Let that copy resolve and with the RRR from the the copy make another of the Spike using Izzi's ability.

    Rinse and repeat. :D

Seething Song is in 9E so this is standard legal, WOOT!
  2. jorael Craptacular!

Hehe, burning out your opponents on turn 3 sounds amusing.

    Go go Izzet!

    :)
  3. Limited Yes, but we won't care

Funny.. I hadn't considered Seething Song yet.

Without it, the combo still can go off on turn five.
