Isty- I've heard you talking about how a well built WW deck could beat alot of decks, I was just wondering if I could see a list for the good WW you have been mentioning around. I'm very interested (completely serious, not trying to call you out on anything, just want to know)

Thnx, T.J.:p

I admit that I haven't formulated a precise decklist, but it would involve the following in various amounts:

Monk Realist
Paladin En-Vec
Soltari Champion
Soltari Priest
Tundra Wolves
Steadfast Guard

Disenchant
Seal of Cleansing
Crusade

Sideboard:
Erase
COP: Red
COP: Green
Opal Caryatid
Swords to Plowshares

The ability to control enchantments so totally (potentially 16 cards, after sideboarding) should give Trix and Donate fits.
Paladin En-Vec and Soltari Priest have Pro: Red, Tundra Wolves come with first strike, and COP: Red in the sideboard should help.
With several first strike creatures, creature pump, and COP: Green and Swords to Plowshares available, this deck should stop Stompy.
Most other decks, I don't ph33r.

Ah-duh. Listen to me: 'Soltari Champion'. Excuse me and my Soltari kick. I meant Thermal Glider.

Monk Realist isnt very good, but 8 maindeck Disenchants would be a very strong tool against Donate, Turboland, and 8-Disks. It would also be 8 dead cards in most other matchups however, I think 8 maindeck Disenchants would be a very dangerous idea - you`d have to be very certain your metagame was Donate-heavy.

Tundra Wolves? Are they better than Mother Of Runes? I guess you are thinking of 2/1 Jackal Pups here, but in truth you`d be better off playing Mothers or even a Repenent Blacksmith as the Wolf would draw a rapid burn spell and not slow the attackers one bit.

You 8 Pro-Red monsters are a bit suspect as well. The Priest cannot block, and the Paladin is 3cc, which if they draw a Port or Wasteland (assuming you have non-basics, which possibly you wouldnt) could be 4th turn anyway. And when he does come down he dies to Cursed Scroll (you have Disenchant but they get to Scroll at least once) or Barbarian Ring. I think this deck would be far weaker against Sligh than you think. To beat Sligh you overload with things like Mothers, Priests, Paladins, En-Kors... you have to make every creature a pain in the ass. Relying on just 4 Paladin and 4 Tundra Wolf is not going to cut it. Sligh is a deck that an awful of people assume they have enough to beat - and it LOVES to play against people who assume they beat it.
Trust me, Red Decks are never more dangerous than when you think you have them beaten.

[edit] Oops, you said it meant Thermal Glider. Ok so you`ve got 8 Pro-Red of any significance, not 4. But again they are 3cc which makes them quite late as blockers which could be a concern. Probably with 8 Pro:Red guys if you go first you should be fine, although it doesnt prevent them going to the head with burn, but if you are drawing you`ll be too slow with your 3cc blockers.
I think a red player is going to be upset to see you play stuff like Thermal Glider - he KNOWS you are aiming for him then. But surely Thermal Glider is godawful in every other matchup ever?[/edit]

You should maindeck the StP and run 4 Tithe (obviously) and if you dont have the dual lands to Tithe up a splash then I`d possibly back it up with Geddon or Armour. SB Parallax Waves.

Stompy would overload a CoP:Green almost instantly - hell they have 3 creatures on the first turn! But beating Stompy isnt really a concern as they arent a metagame deck. The green deck to be scared of is Dark Forces, and you need StP there.

Yeah...I'm a bit rusty because, while I used to run a fairly effective WW deck...
A) It was Type 1, not Extended. Exit White Knight, Savannah Lions...
B) It never got turned into Extended.

Mother of Runes over Tundra Wolves, definitely. (Realize that the basic decklist was drawn up in the middle of the night.)
I had seriously considered Warrior En-Kor, but I wasn't sure...over Steadfast Guard, definitely.
I KNOW there must be a 2-CC pro-red creature of some quality, but I can't find it. :p
Against non-red matchups with creatures, Glider comes out, Caryatid comes in. 2/2 for W, mmmmm...
StP in the maindeck, sure, but what comes out?
Should Seal or Disenchant live in the sideboard?

How about...

Mother of Runes (W)
Warrior En-Kor (WW)
Soltari Priest (WW) (just a couple)
Monk Realist (1W)
Paladin En-Vec (1WW)
Thermal Glider (2W)

Swords to Plowshares (W)
Seal of Cleansing (1W)
Crusade (WW)
Armageddon (WW)

Sideboard:
Disenchant
Erase
Opal Caryatid
Story Circle
COP: Red (a couple)
Parallax Wave

Well it depends how many lands you want in the deck. 14 + 4 Tithe sounds like plenty to me. Maybe 16 + 4 Tithe if you want to be conservative.

Alternatively you add 4 Wasteland 4 Port, which hurts a lot of decks, then go like 14 Plains, 4 Wasteland, 4 Port. That would require re-evaluting the WW-casting 2cc drops though.

More and more CPA members are showing up over at Brainburst.

Criz-nap, my bad. I was thinking of Savannah Lions.

OK, substitute White Knight for the Steadfast Guards.

Like I alluded in T.J.'s Extended post in General, a white weenie deck went undefeated at 2001 Worlds Extended. If you can find it on Sideboard, that might help but it was remarkably similiar to Isty's decklist: It had Mom, Soltari Priest, StP, Tithe, and Seal of Cleansing. It did have Steadfast Guard and some more Rebels for the chain against control, I believe.

Gizmo: Who's over at Brainburst? I've noticed a lack of activity here over the holidays as well...

The Worlds environment was very good for WWeenie, arguably it was the strongest deck (although even then it was 3/4 color splash using a bunch of dual lands to play Vindicate, Meddling Mage etc). The current environment is far less pleasant.

Yellowjacket is over there, now I guess Turtlewax is as well. Ever since I got all the abuse on here after 11.9.01 I ve been active over there, although not as Gizmo. The most regular deck posters (the people who are here for Magic, not chat) seem to be basically giving up and going elsewhere.
