Is it Tribal

If you would like to enter the Tribe's deck building contest and
have a question about whether a card is tribal or not please
post it here and explain why it should be counted as a tribal
card.

Anyone can give there opinion here. We can even vote on it
if need be. I will try to respond to any question ask. It may
take some time. This weekend and next week are pretty busy
but I'll check on this thread as much as possible.

So for a dragon deck... could a gemstone mine count as a cave full of trasure where a dragon could roost...

or is it more of a dwarf thing?...

Gemstone Mine is not a tribal card for a Dragon Deck. It might
be a Dwarf tribal card. I think it should be voted on, if someone
whats to use four in a Dwarf Tribal deck.

Ok i edited... im just lazy and didnt take time to read.... heres the revised version...
Land Tax (only one)
Dragon lands put in
One amulet


Direct damage (all illustrate some sort of fiery form of damage... fire=dragon powers and stuff)

I understand your reasoning but I think Fiery Temper fits the
theme better. I do not think Lightning Bolt, shock or Arc
Lightning are tribal for a Dragon deck.



Living Death = Vampires are the living dead thus vampiric dragon counts as a non living non dead creature...

I do not beleive two should be in a Dragon theme deck. I would
not consider it tribal for that deck.


The mines = what train said.... havent you read the hobbit... smaug lives in a dwarven mine/keep/mountain

I have not read the Hobbit. I'm guessing Smaug is a Dragon. We
can vote on the tribeness of Gemstone Mine in a Dragon deck.

Well, coming from the prime dwarf advocate , I actually disagree that Gemstone Mine should be a dwarf or a dragon card. It could just mean a "treasure" hoard that anyone could find. I think it ought to be limited to one in the deck as a non-tribal card.

But I'll probably be out-voted

I think the "mine" portion relates this to dwarves as I can't think of any other creatures in Magic that would have a mine...

Well, it's a thrull that's on the alter. There's my logic, and the question.

Blood Vassal, anyone? And wasn't Thrull Surgeon in Legacy?

And think about it: what other creature gives you mana when you bleed it? Granted, most do when you burn them(burnt offering), but not when they simply die. It doesn't look mechanical to be a Su-Chi or Cathodian, so I reasoned that it is a thrull. Look at one of the Basal thrulls' hands and tell me that it isn't a green version of that thrull?

Blood Vassal was the only Thrull I could find in all of Urza's Block.
