WHo here plays instuments, where do you study, and how long have you been playing? I have been playin piano for 5 years and I study at the New England Conservatory.

Nothing really, just nifty little blues riffs. I can do "Old Susanna" and "When the Saints Go Marching In" but that's about it.

By the way, sorry about the pissy little comment I made in the thread with the DUke+Almndra thing. I'm just in a poor mood today.

I've played trombone for 9 years now...Pretty much self-taught seeing how my music teachers weren't that great...*grin*...And a little piano and cello and guitar mixed in there...And I sing...

Rando...And where is this comment located so I can see it and then kick you in the buttock...

I play the violin. I currently have no private teacher.(For the first time in 4 years!) I play in the orchestra. Been playing for 4 years.

I've been playing the clarinet for roughly seven years and am currently second chair in my high school band. We're playing songs from Les Mes for our marching show, and they sound really good, the only problem is that our color guard feature is Soul Bossa Nova, the song from Austin Powers, and it just doesn't fit in.

I think I'm going to switch over to a Sax of some kind for our Jazz Band, if we actually do one this year, last years sorta fell apart because only two or three people would show up for practice.

I played piano for 7 non-consecutive years. At the end of my seventh year, my teacher turns to me and says "Russell?"
"Yeah?"
"You know that you really have no talent at this, right?"
"Yeah."
"You sure you wanna continue?"
"No."
I also play drums, and the theoretical trumpet, whcih I can theoretically play.

I played cello and piano for 6 years. I also played and just recently got back into handbells at my church.

Duel: LOL. That's pretty much what happened to ME after one or two PRACTICES with the trumpet in like 4th grade... :)

Hey people! Since all of you play instruments to some extent, and include a band leader among you, could you people arrange yourselves into a live band/orchestra for the CPA Notables award ceremony?

Just trying to provide some direction here. :D

And don't look at me, the only instrument I can play is a dog whistle.

Duel, I understand. My teacher tells people that they are wasting there time (not me of course :D) She drinks a gallon of water every 1 hour class.

I've been playing flute for a little over four years- in eighth grade I was first chair, but now that I'm a lowly freshman I'm somewhere in the middle. In fact, I have a lesson in an hour.. haven't practiced at all.. eep..

I just started taking piano lessons this summer.. I'm almost finished with book one! ;)

And I'd love to play the accordion. :)
