This is a bit of a departure from what I normally play. As there is no white in this deck I may have it all wrong. I am thinking of adding black so I can add Diabolic Tutor. Let me know what you think.

2- Darksteel Colossus

Burn-12

Maybe 2 less lands and some pyrite spellbombs...

Other options - grab the reins and pyrostatic pillar I really like... ;)

Instants:
grab the reins is great against any deck with creatures - even ravager... ;) It beats threaten because it's instant...

Also - scattershot may not look so great - but against ravager affinity - it's nice to have...

Sorceries:
Hammer of Bogardan maybe... that's a strong maybe...

Enchantments:
Pyrostatic Pillar romps Ravager's butt... :D

There's also culling scales, damping matrix...

In place of fireballs - maybe goblin charbelcher...;)

Fun idea.

since this is mostly a race-to-the-obliterate kind of deck, you might want to try Seething Songs.

good point Rooser... I missed that all together...

Do any of these idea's interest you RK?...

okay I like the pillar idea. Maybe do 3 pyroclasm 3 pillars and 2 less lands 1 mountain 1 temple
I'll try that. I don't like the seething songs as I'd only use them for obliterate and I really don't want to Obliterate to early. If I can consistantly obliterate turn 6 I think this deck may be okay. Have to play test it

I can understand not wanting to obliterate too early...

For sideboard - I'd consider the damping matrix - it kills the combos with disciple of the vault should he hit the table... and it doesn't stop anything you want to do...;)

I had a thought for a similar concept recently ...

The basics of the combo were a Darksteel creature armed with Worldslayer. That's a soft lock, because your opponent will lose every permanent every turn, unless they can prevent the damage with one mana (which means a 1-cc flyer, or Turn to Dust, or Holy Day).

[Obviously, as this is a casual format forum, there's lots of other 1-cc spells that can do the job.)

My ideal deck looks something like this:

4x Darksteel Citadel
4x Secluded Steppe
16x Plains

4x Darksteel Ingot
4x Darksteel Brute
4x Darksteel Gargoyle
4x Worldslayer

4x Wrath of God
4x Renewed Faith
4x Wipe Clean
4x Holy Day
4x Gilded Light

Oblation...

It would help you draw into more cards - similar to the cycling secluded.

Yeah, I'm fond of Oblation, but note that only the owner of the permanent gets to draw. I can target myself, but that means Oblation's useful only when I have a permanent I don't want any more.

Oblation is just very versatile... it's great against something that forces you to do something...

against bounce - you draw 2... against stealing you draw 2 and their attempt fails... etc, etc...
