God, that was a long time ago. We were just a baby site then. I especially got a kick out of the message on the front board saying we have decided to go with NewWave.

Yeah, where's NewWave now? Good call, Doust.

I think I stopped reading when Ed was whipping Dune Echo with a 60 lb. noodle. That's good readin'! :D

Much more substantive... and I got mentioned! <preen, preen> Not as high as compliment to Apollo though...

Hilarious about the Battle Arena... I guess TomB and I are the only moderators to touch it (well, maybe theorgg). Agree with the Founders' assessment of it now though.

And I'd have to question Dune Echo's statement about casual players influencing the current environment. There's no real hard DATA behind that, just an impression and seems to me right now to be a logical fallacy (yeah, casuals push for "current environment" (whatever that means, gold cards? Slower? Less broken cards?) and now we have it, so casuals must have done it. A bit sketchy with no real reasoning or official word on why the environment is the way it is today.

...believe me, the CPA has ALL to do with it...if the CPA keeps up its might, I can assure you that all we'll see from WotC is exactly what we're aiming for.

...WotC are lurkers, believe me...the look around MTGnews' boards, and they look around the CPA's boards even more. I wouldn't be surprised if we discover a CPA member who actually belongs to WotC R&D member...

...how do I know? I'm out of time...I'll explain later...

call me a skeptic then.

I don't doubt that WOTC lurks, they've said so in the past (although not recently, but they're probably around).

What I DO question is that CASUAL play has had the majority of influence on the sets. Mark Rosewater said himself, they assess the general mood ON THEIR OWN and see what needs to be done. If it is shown that the general mood is indeed casual, then I will be convinced.

Wow! Cool! I'm the mascot! I even beat out a "Stuffed, Chain-Smoking Cheetah"!

BTW, Spidey, I'm the one that should be preening (I am a bird).:)

I think the CPA should distribute plush Apollo dolls to all active members.:D
