Ideas for a Beast deck?

I want to use my Aether Charges and was starting to look through my red cards and see that there are a lot of beasts. Should I make this mono-red or go with my original though of R/G? All red means I can put more Beasts in of the same card but green might have some nice ines (haven't looked through those yet).

Personally I would go G/R as the best Beasts are green (Ravenous Baloth, Hystrodon, Blastoderm, Skyshroud War Beast if your group is very non-basic heavy, and many many more).

However, black could also work quite well because of graveyard recursion, giving you another way to A) get your beasts out in a less expensive manner than casting them B) getting double Charge use out of a dead beast.

If you do want to stick R/G you can use Genesis as well to get the important ones back (like Blastoderm).

Go to this page:
http://www.crystalkeep.com/magic/rules/search.html

Put Beast in as the creature type and see your results. Green has very good beasts, and black has a couple of bombs as well.

I also think R/G would be the way to go. Have you seen a deck
called "Predator" Its a lot of fun to play. Below is my own
variant of the deck.

If you can get a succession, a charge and a ravenous in play
you can sack beast to get another one. But you really need
a scavenger or gost, from the board, to make the deck run.

Predator variant
4 dilligent farmhand
4 living wish
4 wall of mulch
4 wirewood savage
4 anurid scavenger
4 ravernous baloth
4 anurid swarmsnapper
4 krosan tusker
3 verdent succession
3 aether charge
3 contested cliffs
3 mountains
1 plains
16 forests

sideboard options:
gurzigost
brushhopper

I think beasts are hard to make really fun. They are just BIG! But I think you should stick to r/g. As Mikeymike points out, the best beasts are green. And when playing beast-theme, it would be nice to include contested cliffs. Maybe the "combo" contested cliffs/tephraderm. Scragnoth must be a beast. I always liked him.
Also use the old Keeper of the beasts. Althought it doesnt do anything with beasts but keeps them.

Then there is beast walkers from Homelands. I dont even know what that is. But who cares. They sucked anyway...

Hey, thanks for the replies...

I haven't been able to look at my green cards yet so this is still in the works... but I know I don't have Contested Cliffs or alot of the other cards mentioned singly :( Maybe I can get to them this week and see what I have and can come up with.

Thinking of card drawing, isn't there some Elf that lets you draw a card when a Beast comes into play? That might be better than the Tome. And isn't there an Elf that lets you gain life when a Beast comes into play? Maybe I could combine that with Sylvan Library...

try making it one of those surprise decks with the morph as a big thing... or even use the elves to the beasts advantage.

My friend had a really obnoxious RG beast deck, with Skirk Outriders, lots of red morphers like Bloodstoke Howler, and Skirk Alarmist.

Are you talking to me now?

I looked at them but a lot are situational (like Beasts of Bogardan) and some just didn't make the final cut; I wanted to go for trample and interesting abilities and it seems the newer ones have more of the interesting.

You know...

you could use the anurid brushhopper to discard beasts to the graveyard... then use a living death to bring them all into play at once... goes perfect with the animal magnetism also...

smoothness...
