I won a six person booster draft, playing black.

The draft was Masque block, one pack of each. The rares are pooled at the end, the winner chooses one, then the others are given out randomly so you all get three. We draft for fun, and is fairer when playing the little kids who can only have enought morning for buying packs. I was then only player drafting main line black, one other went second line black & a third person took enought to splash black but did not. I normally go white-green or white-blue, so mono black surpised the others some what. I do not draft much & normally go 0-5 or 1-4

I went 4-1, lost to a green stompy with 'derms. Won against the pro tour players & lost to the new scrub in the group!

Here's my deck.

16 swamps

02 Alley Grifters
02 Belbe's Rercher
01 Cateran Brute
03 Fen Stalker
03 Misshapen Fiend (one was Foil)
01 Nakaya Shade
01 Phyrexian Prowler
02 Rathi Intimidator
01 Spineless Thug
01 Volrath the Fallen
01 Wall of Vipers

02 Steal Strenght
02 Despoil
01 Outbreak
01 Vicious Hunger

So 16 land, 18 creatures, 2 instants & 4 sorceries.
This deck works along the lines of black stompy. The shade & volrath work well, kept a pair of jolting merfolk & a belbe's armour employed for a good number of turns

I want ideas for a 60 card black stompy deck, using Masque block & 6th Ed, no more than 10% rares

Stompy specificly refers to Green speed decks, starting with Svend Geertsen's Senior Stompy back in 1996 (I believe). He ran 4 Winter Orbs, 4 Bounty of the Hunt (Pitch a green card to give 3 +1/+1 counters distributed as you chose until end of turn), 16 land, and 36 critters. Stompy has always relied on Green's mana tricks (Elvish Spirit Guide, Quirion Ranger, Llanowar Elves) to unbalance a distuptive card like Winter Orb or Tangle Wire.

Black has rarely been able to do the same thing. Jakub Slemr's 5 Color Black deck that won the World championships in 1997 is a good example of of trying to make a Black "Stompy" deck, but htat worked with ManOWars, Memory Lapse, Winter Orb, Uktabi Orangutan, Soltari Lancers and Shadow Guildmages to emulate the time advantage and unbalanced disruption of Stompy.

Black may well be getting that again, with Invasion coming in, but it, in my mind, at least, that the black rush deck will be as viable. But here is a shot:

4 Chilling Apparition
4 Chimeric Idol
4 Complex Automaton
4 Thrashing Wumpus
4 Dark Ritual
4 Unmask
4 Stupor
4 Despoil
4 Snuff Out
4 Vendetta
4 Peat Bog
16 Swamp

Sort of a melding of David Price's House of Horrors with Ed Fear's Black Land-D deck from Masques Block. However, I think the best Black Rush deck will be Scott John's Mercenary deck from magic.mindripper.com of a few weeks ago, with Vampiric Tutors and possibly Stupor.

Stompy around here descrides either a fast creature deck (ie lots quickly) or a big creature or boost deck (ie mana creatures & fatties or quick creatures with lots of enchants.

Trying to stay off the Wampus as do not normally play black so do not have enought, I think I've only one maybe two.
