...but PokeMon is a game too; sure, it's not for you, but it's for others who enjoy it. 'There' are people who enjoy it you know, young people: called kids. There are some adults that like it, but there's completely nothing wrong with that.
You want to destroy it because you hate it; but do you think your opinion matters to the millions who play the game? I've heard these conversations over and over again, about how "I want to destroy PokeMon" or "I want to burn PokeMon cards" or whatever.
We all have heard it, and unless you have something new to say about it, don't reopen the portals to history; that could be dangerous. You'll never know what might comeback to huant you down.

I hate Pokémon.
It was an interesting concept when it was a Game Boy timekiller. But they, Nintendo and WotC and all, had to kill it by overmarketing it.
An I could live with it, had they not committed the atrocity that the have recently done.
For those who've never heard of it, there is a puzzle game on the Super Nintendo called Tetris Attack. It is THE best puzzle game ever. Period. Tetris is nothing in comparason. If you don't believe me, rent/buy it. You'll learn.
You will also notice that the game is themed after the characters from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. It made sence since the game's original japanese release was filled with anime fairies, and it took only a few days of graphics switching to redo the total appearance of the game.
The new version of the Game Boy, the Game Boy Advanced will have Tetris Attack on it. The original GB had it, but Tetris Attack requires colors (well, it uses shapes too, but only losers, ie, people who get 2,000 pts in two minutes instead of over 40,000) to be played correctly, so it kinda was a flop.
But...Nintendo once again redid the graphics with characters they own the rights too. The Pokécrap.
Pokémon Puzzle League, they call it. Could they have been any more lame? I doubt it.
They have corrupted the best puzzle game ever, and for that, they can never be forgiven.

For those who don't know, 2,000 pts is the default top score in the 2-minute games, which is the only true test of TA speed and agility. My friend once got 5,000 something. I get 15k on very bad rounds and up to over 40,000 on good ones. One guy I knew claimed 60k, but I have doubts.

I used to have a game called Weltris. I was imported from Russia, and it was a 3D Teteris. Instead of just one board that you could move the blocks one, Weltris, was like looking down a well, with 4 sides and you could move the pieces around all the sides, so they would drop into place at the bottom. And if you had a little piece sticking up from the bottom onto one of the sides, You wouldn't be able to use that side. You lost the game when you couldn't use any of the sides anymore. It was one of the hardest games I have ever played.

Kill em all. Its gone to d*mn far!!! Its was okay, i even dare say fun, when it was on game boy. Then along came the TV show. Then the TCG. And now more games and expansions!!! This is to far. The line must be drawn here!!!! Their taking the weak minded Magic players. Were losing card space in our game stores to what???!!!! A freaking Electric Rat!!! Thats what!!! You forgot it has like 4 vidio games also.
But any way, we hate pokemon becuase it's been around about a year and is as popular as magic, which has been around for 8 years.
And I've played AD&D a few times and it is harder then magic, but it get's boring after 30 minutes and I keep on killing myself comicly on perpose. Well except this one time when I made myself a theif, and I managed to get my own Inn. Then I stabbed all the costomers in the back and became really powerfull. I played that game for about an hour, and then when I got a wish I wished to battle a Terisk(s/p?). You can probably guess what happened.

Actually, there's still a market for Beanie Babies. And TickleMeElmo? Comparing that to Magic is apples and oranges... one's a game, and one's a toy.
Tell me, exactly how are you judging the "popularity" of Magic? Number of players? Give me numbers of everything else you're trying to compare it to. And sources.
The point is that Pokemon has absolutely NO effect on Magic. The target audience is different! If 3rd edition D&D draws players you MIGHT have a case since they have a more similiar audience but then you can make the point that D&D has been around longer and Magic was merely stealing its audience (basically what I was trying to say in my first post here).
I know this is the Battle Forum and you can expend your energy anyway on this, but personally, I'd rather focus on introducing new players to Magic if you're that concerned about the state of the game. Otherwise, you might as well complain about everything else on which you have no control over.

In my job, I'm surrounded by Pokemon crap. SURROUNDED. Pokemon keychains, Pokemon wind-up toys, Pokemon action figures, Pokemon pencil sets, Pokemon posters, Pokemon TCG, Pokemon Game Boy games...the list goes on.
I hate Pokemon. Not because I think it's detrimental to Magic...just because, after three or four years, I find it BORING. Very little of it has changed, they're just rehashing the same old material in new and not-at-all-exciting ways.

I hate Pokemon too! In the long run Magic will prevail because pokemon has limited carachters while magic can keep growing and there is so much diversity in magic you have your creatures, enchant creatures, spells, instants and your counters and everything.

So unless your going to trash or say why you hate stop posting in this thread. I'm surrounded by that god forsaken game 24/7. My neighbors play, my cousin i'm forced to listen to conversations about why magic sucks and why charizard is better then blastoise. Thats why i hate pokemon with the intensity of a thousasnd suns!!!!
