I Blame the Matriarchy [EDH]

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
I've been running with Pashalik Mons for a while and I thought black/red goblins might be a fun change of pace. That's about it.

The Tentacled One
I was going to play this one on Wednesday, but I held off initially because there was a new player at the table, and only got two games in. Next time...

Oversoul

The Tentacled One
Tried this deck out twice on Wednesday night, but not also kinda not really. When I brought it out for its first game, one of my two opponents was running a powerful Giada deck and just stomped on both of us before we could do anything. He cast an Angel of Jubilation before I could get a single creature onto the field, and it also shut off the fetchland I drew, on top of shutting down the Pyre of Heroes I'd been intending to use as my main way to actually accelerate the deck, based on my mediocre opening hand. So yeah, didn't really get to do anything and was promptly beaten to death.

I actually brought the deck out again at the end of the night, as the pod I'd been in saw some folks leave early, so I helped a friend test out his new Eggs list. Could be that I got a slow start. Could be that this deck just isn't fast in the first place. But yeah, couldn't apply enough pressure to outrace the combo.
