First off, let me say that all of this is merely hearsay, and I personally can't verify it. That said, you might like to see these

Now, here's the news you've all been dying to see. A new list of cards from SEVENTH Edition:

SERRA ANGEL
WRATH OF GOD
PARIAH
WORSHIP
NORTHERN PALADIN
SOUTHERN PALADIN

You can go to http://www.mtgnews.com to verify this if you like.

I don't think that they will reprint Pariah and Worship in 7th. I thought they could only print commons from the urza cycle. In 7th they will reprint rath cycle rares. Those two might be reprinted in 8th though.

They can reprint cards from Rath Block and Urza Block. Otherwise, by the time 8th edition comes out, they'll be a set-and-a-half behind.

Looks like they'll rotate cards into the basic set two blocks at a time from now on.

Thus, 8th (in 2003) would include cards from Masques block and Invasion Block (which wraps up this summer).

6th Edition Reprinted cards from Mirage Block and Alliances (since 5th left off at Homelands), as well as some select Tempest commons and uncommons.

6th was printed near Destiny's release. It included rares from Mirage block that had never been in the base set before, and a few select commons and uncommons from Rath that were needed to define the colors well (Shock, for example). 7th will be released about 2 years after 6th, with MM block over and Invasion mostly done. Thus, it will include rares from Tempest block that have never been base set before, and select commons and uncommons from Urza's. Not Urza's rares.

Furthermore, consider why Serra was taken out of circulation to begin with. Good, everyone remembers, RIGHT? Because Blue was the flying color, and Blue had Air Elemental in that slot, which was _obviously_ inferior to Serra Angel. Thus, Serra was removed. So, unless WotC intends to put a blue flier _better_ than Serra in at 3UU in 7th, Serra's gone. And the only Blue flier that fits that description is Morphling. Do you REALLY want Morphling back? Really? You're SURE?

Hot off the press (and I mean HOT, it went up 30 seconds ago at MtgNews): Glorious Anthem and Gerrard's Wisdom are back as well, in theory.

The Wisdom I can accept. I doubt they'll put Anthem and Crusade in the same set.

It's true, that Serra basically makes every flier for the same cost totally inferior, except for Morphling. Now, as much as I'd love to see Morphling back, bein' lovably blue an' all, I don't think that's very wise. I can think of only a few scenarios where Serra wuld be reprinted without ruining the "flying" blue bias.

One, they reprint Serra as a rare. They've changed card rarities before, such as when they wisely reprinted River Boa as an uncommon. But reprinting as a rare doesn't change the fact that the superior Serra Angel will once again dominate the skies.

Two, they reprint Morphling. A comment must be made here: ahahahaha... Don't think so. I can see blue-white control growing a grin wider than the Grinch's. A lesser scenario (but not by much) is if they reprint Palinchron. A creature that can avoid it's controller's Wrath of God is a scary prospect, especially in this slower environment.

Three, Planeshift or Apocalypse comes up with a blue beatdown flier in the mold of Morphling and Palinchron. <shudder>

On other cards, Quinton Hoover's Angry Deity is not a surprise. It and Armageddon are supposed to be in every set from now till forever. Of course, with all of the available replacements (ex. Cataclysm, Rout) the future of the Wrath is just a little more doubtful.

When you consider all of the fat creatures that have come out as of late, I don't think that Sera is really that much of a break-out card anymore. There are more then enough spells to take care of her and big creatures to kill her in combat.

White, in terms of 7th and Planshift is verrrry powerful and I like it since I use lotta white. About the other colours they will reprint some really good card to balance everything.

Okay, if there's Rath rares and Urza's commons, let's keep going this way.

Two years later, there will be 8th edition, and Masques commons and uncommons will be in it. There will have been 2 blocks printed since then, Planeshift and whatever comes after that, we'll call it block A. 2 years later, 9th will come out, and it will have Planshift rares. 2 more blocks will have come out since then, call them B and C. At this point, block A, B, and C are all still waiting to get in a base set. 10th comes out, and A gets in, but now D and E have come out and B, C, D, and E are still waiting.

See what I mean? For every new base set that comes out, 2 new blocks come out, so the new base set should include the rares from 2 blocks. So, Urza's and Rath should be in 7th.

Is there something wrong with my logic?

As for Serra, logically I know it's doubtful, but as a player, it would be really cool.:)

Serra is and always was uncommon.

One card I strongly expect to see either reprinted in Planeshift or Apocalypse or put into 7th is Skyshroud Elves. Think about it: it fits *perfectly* into the cooperating colors idea, and provides no more actual mana acceleration than Llanowars.

Severed Edition! It's Severed the cord of brokenness and balance! Urza's powerrares come back and then Ghhhaaaakkk!! There goes the inviroment that's carfully been crafted from Masks to Invasion...

As I said on the Dojo's ORIGINAL forums:

Severed Edition is coming!
Severed Edition is coming!
Severed Edition is coming!
Severed Edition is coming!
Severed Edition is coming!

Just the normal "sky is falling" thing. I might as well be the first to do it...
I really hope they don't print the unfair Urza rares again... that would suck badly.

But if Serra Angel really is being reprinted, I assume they will have the sense to reprint Mahamoti Djinn, as Blue is definitely supposed to have the most efficient fliers in the game (even if they can only block other fliers).
