How does my Goblin Type II look?

Okay, so I've been out of the loop, I think I missed three expansions and 8th Edition, so forgive me if this deck - for lack of a better term - sucks a mean one. Give me a break, though, everyone knows I'm not the best T.II player around. I'll give it a go, though.

3 Goblin King
3 Goblin Warchief
3 Reckless One
4 Goblin Piledriver
4 Goblin Sharpshooter
4 Goblin Taskmaster
4 Raging Goblin
2 Coat of Arms
3 Gratuitous Violence
4 Goblin War Strike
4 Pulse of the Forge
22 Mountain

Since this is a serious T2 deck and not a casual deck I'm gonna give serious advice.

1. Drop the Coats. I hate to say it, but they are too slow for the environment.
2. Drop Goblin War Strike. It is too slow and it is a "win more" card.
3. Add 4x Skullclamp. This gives you card advantage out the wazoo.
4. Drop Gratutitous Violence and Goblin King. They are too slow, and Goblin King is not a goblin. Replace with 4x Siege-Gang Commanders and 4x Skirk Prospectors.
5. Play 2x Goblin Burrows to pump your goblins.
6. Maybe, play 4 fetches to thin your deck.

Well, this wasn't exactly meant for serious play, nor really casual. This was just an attempt to see if my deck-building prowess and understanding of the current environment could hold up. So, using your steps, I now have a "serious" T.II Goblin, which follows:

3 Goblin Warchief
3 Reckless One
4 Goblin Piledriver
4 Goblin Sharpshooter
4 Goblin Taskmaster
4 Raging Goblin
4 Siege-Gang Commander
4 Skirk Prospector
4 Pulse of the Forge
4 Skullclamp
2 Goblin Burrows
4 Bloodstained Mire
16 Mountain

Goblin Taskmaster is probably too mana-intensive for this deck. I would try Goblin Sledder because it works with both Skullclamp and Sharpshooter.

First of all - Coat is not too slow for the environment - just too slow for Goblins...

Second of all - Enrage seems to be missing...

That or incite war, grab the reins or fists of the anvil...

Goblins slow when blocked - reins lets you take their critter and pound them with it... and you can even take it in a defensive manner utilizing a 2 for 1 advantage...

incite war makes their blockers atttack you - which you can take for a turn, and then trample them the next - or it surprises the opponent with some first strikers when you're defending...

fists of the anvil - come on - think straight... this is 2 shocks - for only 1 card slot in the deck...

first turn - raging - attack...
second turn - attack, fists - your opponent's at 14... and they probably don't have a critter out...
third turn - warchief, etc, etc...

The main reason I mention enrage - is that a goblin will almost always get through the defense - why not boost him for maximum damage?...

Those are my thoughts...

All of DM666's were good too - those are just other ways I'd run gobbos...

and I don't know of a deck that doesn't have artifacts - even green ones - so shatters might not be a bad idea...

Grab the reins is great sideboard against any deck that can manage to plunk down a Darksteel Collossus!

Isn't Pulse of the Forge the artifact-eater?
If so, I think it belongs in your sideboard.
Also, I think your deck could benefit from some burn. Not a lot, mind you, but you could cut down on a couple of high-cost and/or low-utility goblins to play Volcanic Hammer and Shock. In particular, Raging Goblin is nothing more than a Mons's Goblin Raiders after first turn.

I did edit my deck out, and this does seem to work a lot better tham my original design. I'mstill not so sure about Skullclamp though, it looks like it might kill my Goblins mopre than help them. I guess I'll have to look more into it.

3 Goblin Warchief
3 Reckless One
4 Goblin Piledriver
4 Goblin Sharpshooter
4 Goblin Sledder
4 Raging Goblin
4 Siege-Gang Commander
4 Enrage
4 Fists of the Anvil
4 Skullclamp
2 Goblin Burrows
4 Bloodstained Mire
16 Mountain

By the way, Fists of the Anvil rocks!

I was actually looking at it more like "Wow, Bloodlust without the defense decrease."

Yeah - that's how I view it sometimes - but it doesn't look like card advantage then...
