Umm, why not?

EOT tap Kill Switch to turn off Static Orb = untap your stuff.
It works, but I think there are much better ways of doing it than with Kill Switch - like Opposition for instance.

I just brought up the other thread where we had this discussion (Static-Stompy by Griffy), but to recap, the Static Orb will remain tapped for your opponent's turn so THEY will be able to untap also (unless you untap it another way after your untap step). So it's probably not the BEST combo...

Kill Switch Artifact 3
2, Tap: Tap all other artifacts. They don't untap during their controllers' untap steps as long as Kill Switch remains tapped.

That means that Static Orb remains tapped during your untap step so it doesn't affect your opponent as well ;)

Some ideas.

Trickster Mage
Opposition
Hoodwink
Twiddle

Some Creatures I think would fix the idea well.
Gulf squid
Jolting Merfolk

Maybe splash white, like LotusMox said "creatures that don't tap to attack".

What do You think?

I'm not sure but if you tap static orb during your opponents end step it will untap during your upkeep with your other stuff including kill switch and then your opponent can't untap. That what I think.

Geez, is it so hard to understand? ;)

Yes it is.
I would have assumed things untapped as normal. How good is the ruling that they don`t?

Kill Switch is supposed to be an artifact hoser by permanently tapping them for 2 mana a turn.

IF the Kill Switch remains tapped.

I intend on untapping my Kill Switch. Kill Switch specifically states 'if Kill Switch remains tapped' and it won`t be remaining tapped.

So, again, how reliable is the ruling that the artifacts won`t untap if I choose not to have Kill Switch remain tapped?

from Crystalkeep: "Note that you cannot choose to leave this card tapped during your untap step (unless some other effect says so). [Nemesis FAQ 00/02/07]"

Although I have no idea whether Kill Switch affects all artifacts or just the artifact it taps, but it doesn't really matter anyway because you have to use it's ability every turn.

Here's the Kill Switch/Static Orb Scenario:
(assuming I control Kill Switch and Orb)

opp. turn: tap Kill Switch -> taps Static Orb.

Untap phase of my turn: Kill Switch + Orb are tapped -> no 2 cards untap limit, but only Kill switch untaps, not the Orb

Untap phase of opp. turn: Kill Switch is untapped, Orb is tapped -> untaps all permanents (including Artifacts).

Only the Kill Switch will untap.

It's also in 302.1: First the active player determines which permanents he/she will untap (normally they all do, but effects may modify this). Then he/she untaps them all simultaneously.

I'm also betting two Kill Switches will keep each other tapped, although it's not clear if the "Kill Switch" part refers to the card itself or ALL Kill Switches.
