If you have a deck that is not on the list (only allows 10 but there are about 50) go ahead and post them and I'll put it in as a write in vote.

When the results are all through coming in, I'll make a front page article on the matter of what's what and where it belongs in extended.

I believe that a well-made White Weenie deck could conceivably stop all of those.

Turbo-Land would be my choice for "Best" deck, while Count Chocula/Carpe Noctum is the most FUN deck. :)

But there's no option that says "Is not knowedgeable enough to know" on there... which is my case.

If you don't know don't say anything and move on...the threads title says it's EXTENDED!

But as a mod too, I'd like to read EVERY thread, whether I'm interested in the subject or not, to make sure it's okay AND to see whether it becomes interesting. I have no doubt other people do the same thing...

I like a very... very strong re-animator deck. It works quite nicely.

Reanimator is very strong right now, alot of decks have trouble with Crosis on turn 2, and the occasional infinate zombie thing.

I can't decide which deck to pick seriously, but I'm starting to think that Raisin Bran should have been a main-pole option instead of 'Some kind of Ophidian'. Oh well we all make mistakes.

I will anounce what deck I am voting for when the article comes out.

Keep Voting CPA'ers!

I was reading a friend's Sideboard yesterday and it had the decklists of the top four or five decks that went undefeated at the 2001 World's Extended portion of the tournament. They were Zvi's Turbo-Land (really went 5-0-1), Secret Force, White Weenie, Sligh, Illusions/Donate, and Finkel's Turbo-Phid, if that might give ideas.

Hmm.... talking extended again i see... well i'd rather you think about anything else since you don't really have the cards to build any good extended decks anyways... but ok! extended it is! I think that PT Junk is the best by just a little bit. Getting rid of hands, mass regenerating creatures, call of the herd, and deed!!! Too much fun, well if you don't think this deck is the best give me a good argument. Later.

Almost everything dies to the rock...PJT is a midranged control deck that aims twards early pressure. The Rock is also a midranged control deck that aims tward board control...I wonder which is better?

Ok, here`s the beef.

Rock is very powerful, and naturally good in a qualifying field where you have to play against random monkeys bith bad decks.

PT Junk is very similar. It depends on what you class as Junk. If Junk means playing with Hunted Wumpus then it sucks. If it means playing with Lynx and Boa its really solid and about on a par with Rock but more vulnerable to non-basic land hosers.

Re-Animator is a dead deck, its just awful. The good versions are the UB Intuition/Infestation decks - those are very good but very complicated to play. IMHO though the UB deck IS the best deck in extended right now - the Squee/Horror/Horror/Infestation engine is brutal.

Sligh is a good choice if you want to finish 4-2, but a bad choice if you actually want to win the PTQ.

WWeenie is actually ok.

Miracle-Gro is extremely powerful but overexposed now after Long played it, and personally I would avoid.

Turboland is just awful unless you are Zvi. Its also awful if you cant win Game One of your matches, because it`s such a slow deck to play that you struggle to complete three games. Same goes for the Walaamies deck, which is even slower and so is a bad idea.

Stasis is a joke.

Donate is overexposed and far from invulnerable. I`d not want to play it.

I spoil the ballot paper.

I`d pick the UB Infestation deck if I could.

The best deck listed in the poll there is Rock.

There's probably a "best" type of deck that can handle anything thrown at it, but depending on your metagame, some of the other choices might work. Like at Worlds, apparently a lot of people didn't expect to face Secret Force or Donate/Illusions, which is why some players did well with the decks...

I guess you can decide to take the chance and go with an "underdog" deck or play the "best" and hope it comes out all right...
