Haunting Echoes...

...ok, I wasn't really planning to notify the CPA members of my new song, but after hearing what dear Ademis had to say about it...I must. The guy, basically, does not like any type of music...or at least, he's the most strict critic in the universe. So I'm hoping for at least 1 other opinion from any CPA member.

This is the first track that revolves around me, around my ideas, my imgination, and *my* life. It's also the first track that an actual Indian Sitar was played. It's the first track to reach the #1 Worldbeat Song in AcidPlanet overnight. It's the first track that more than 5 people worked on...and I hope you could notice that when you listen to it. The sound quality is more professional than professionalism itself. The Indian female is not saying anything, she's just humming with eternal, burning sadness in her soul. And again, this is the first track that does *not* sound like computer-ized music. Everything sounds real and alive...everything is so powerful and in your face. Did I mention that this is the first that you'll hear DJ scatches in? :) It's very modern, yet very old and essential...

It's the first track that I, myself, produced completely...

This track is the first in everything...so maybe it'll be the first track that someone actually *loves* in here? :D

I also just noticed that most people who truely enjoy my music are from Europe, mostly from Argentina and Norway...It's completely weird, because my music is mostly Asian/Middle Eastern -- with a strike of modern feel...

DUke...you are far too humble. Did you go to India over the hollidays and wash begger's feet?

By the way...you obviously have no idea what schizophrenia is all about.

I, good sir, am a sociopath.

I'm not humble. Why should I be? This is the first track that is personal to me, and I want everyone to know that...you want me to be humble?

Wow -- you actually *know* that there is a country entitled "India?" For that, sir, I must apologize -- I didn't know you were that informed. Did you ever ask yourself that I may have something called a keyboard that is able to 307% simulate the sound of a sitar? Did you ever think that I may have friends that can sing for me? No -- I have to have gone to India. Well, I'm not that mad, actually...I'm still shocked that you know there's such place as India. You probably rarely leave your house, so it never crossed my mind that you actually know that there's something called "countries" and "cultures." But you do know all that stuff; forgive moi...("moi" is French for "me" by the way; I don't want you spending your next 10 years wondring what that is...)
By the way...you obviously have no idea what schizophrenia is all about.
I've gotten more education than you'll ever get in your whole entire tragedy that you humbly refer to as "life," so I should at least know what schizophrenia is...but hey, I wont say anything more...I'm still shocked that you actually know of a place called India.

Congrats, "sociopath"...

This thread is to be closed, ASAP. (ASAP is "As Soon As Possible," Evan...just tryin' to make life easy for ya...)

*whoosh*
over the tops of his head it goes.

I had a friend that was schizophrenic. He shot himself.

I have a cousin who is schizophrenic. He thinks a tiny indian lives in his head.

And my comments had nothing to do with your music, how you make it or what it sounds like. I was simply refering to the way you present yourself. Jerk.

I found that piece to be very relaxing, actually. I might need to get a DUkey section. And you're right, that isn't very computerized. Come to think of it, not a lot of your stuff is too computerized, except that they have a lot of sounds in it that would be hard to put together in RL. (That's probably what I was trying to get to in that AIM conversation...)

Congratulations DÛke. You've done it again. Tell me - is there anyone else left here that you haven't managed to tick off yet?

I sorta' doubt it...:(

Here's the part that's truly amazing though: Thread closed due to a complaint from...DÛke! That's right kids - DÛke turned himself in this time, and since Evan_Mann has had a chance to respond already I'm going to grant DÛke's request and close the thread.

H.A.N.D. :D

Sorry TomB, I think you're totally wrong here. Evan_Mann is the one who started it in THIS thread, with his  IMO, his post was totally out of line, since all this thread was about was to let people know about a new song.

Umm, how do you figure Spidey? DÛke did request that the thread be closed, so I closed it. Granted, Evan_Mann was pretty harsh in his criticism of DÛke and DÛke's work, but, then, I've pointed out DÛke's melodramatic streak myself (and that elicited a similar response from DÛke).

Maybe it was a little unfair taking a shot at DÛke like that before I granted his request to close the thread. As he himself stated in a PM to me (and I'm paraphrasing) by closing the thread like that I did not give him a chance to respond to my observation. So I'll re-open it...

Take your best shot pal

I AM SO sorry Evan for saying what I had said -- I shouldn't have reacted that way man! :) We already worked this out on Private Messages like mature people...and I'm glad that we came to an agreement.

I also would LOVE to thank Spiderman for being the honest person he is. I have no clue how to pay him back except by respecting him -- I do that already though. EVERY moderator on EVERY message board should be like Spiderman...:D

And TomB -- this is my BEST shot.

The message below was sent to one of my dear friends - Jon - at Acid Planet -- sent by a fan of music in general:

Optikal:

...it seems to be that you (Jon), Sage, SudoAngel, and Godiva are almost like a small collaboration of atrists producing the some of the most amazing music here on the site. Just noticed that
As some know, "Sage" is me. The rest are my friends...

...just to show how much of a great producer I am. :)

By the end of the year 2002, I will have fully completed at least 12-15 tracks that are completely mine. I'll be making the CDs, and sending them out, all over the world...free of charge. :) So you can enjoy this natural talent of mine...;)

Duke - even though this music is not my cup of tea at all, I must applaud you on your decision of distributing your music for free.... You got my respect for that :)

TomB: I wasn't questioning your decision or statement about DUke asking to close the thread, I was addressing your initial statements:
Congratulations DÛke. You've done it again. Tell me - is there anyone else left here that you haven't managed to tick off yet?

I sorta' doubt it...
I don't see anything in here that warranted THAT, since Evan started it with his post. The first  may have been to his music, but his last lines do not address the music but rather DUke's character. And THAT was uncalled for and unnecessary in this particular thread.

That's how I figure :)

...so I was checking my email, and I noticed that I was getting "congrats" emails from my musical friends...

I visited Acid Planet...and there it was, my gem, Haunting Echoes...the #1 song in Acid Planet! It's the #1 -- period. That, and a long with comments like "I heard it 3 times, and I still hear the echoes," and "lovely, lovely," just made my dang day! If you haven't listened to it, please do so...it's not about what type of music you like, it's about observing the inner beauty of the sounds...

...as I noted in the opening of this thread, Haunting Echoes is the first track of mine that does many things, the first track that I really put my heart and soul into, the first track that I stayed sleepless nights on, the first track I spend a hell of money on...and now...it's the first track of mine that makes it to #1, in the over all charts. What can I say? Words can't describe my joy at all...but still, know that I am thankful...

Did I mention it was the first track directly named after a Magic card? :)

Thanks for all those who've supported me here too...you truely have been an inspiration...
