Harry Potter IV

Anyone else seen it? What'd you think?

I really thought the Goblet of Fire was the best book of the 6 so far... But I didn't like the movie as much as I liked Prisoner... I know they will surprise me somehow, but I think the 6th movie will be the weakest - based on the book itself. I liked the book, but I don't see it as making a good movie...

There certainly isn't as much action in the 6th book.

The movie of the 4th is decent, but there was a lot of material to cover. I don't think they did a good job of smoothing it over so it didn't feel rushed.

I think it had something to do with a change in the director - now the 3rd director for the series... I have this sneaking suspicion that JK Rowling is a bear to work with... she definately has an idea what she wants them to look like...

I really did like the 3rd movie better... The 4th book was almost as dark... and this movie just seemed too "glossy"... I don't know what they expect the target of these movies is... didn't it have a PG-13 rating? After seeing SW Episode III and the LotR movies, I think kids could have handled it as darker than it turned out... Another thing I'm getting tired of is bad acting by the "kids"... they are getting older... they should have improved some by now... :D

Actually, I've gotten the impression that they have intentionally looked for different directors for each movie.

I passed on it. My little siblings went, though. From their descriptions, they toned down the graveyard scene a FART-TON. That scene should've scared them, filled them with dread as Harry's arm was slit, the skeleton drug out of the ground, and Wormtail's hand cut off at the wrist. From what I understood, they obscured those things quite a bit.

One question-- how did Cedric's death look? Did he gently slump as in the story (possibly important), or did they go for the dramatic?

Cedric's death happened pretty quickly. I suppose you could say "gently slump". They didn't try to do anything fancy (like flying through the air, or prolonging it).
