I don't know, I have been playing with this deck for a while, it's good, but it needs help with mana base because the Griffins are too expensive and mana is slow to come sometimes.

Maybe too many Zuberi?

Suggestions?

Invulnerability(for the buyback) or Samite Ministration(prevents from B/R and you gain life) instead of honorable passage.
You could also take 1 of these out for an Aegis of Honor.

Fellwar stones would do better than the diamonds - they don't come into play tapped.

Charmed griffins would let you put artifacts and enchantments into play for free - but it also lets your opponents.

Drop the Mistmoon for another Mtenda.

Drop the Teremko and add 2 more Unyaro.

I think 2 thawing glaciers might help you - put them in for the remote farms.

Also, take out 1 factory for 1 kjeldoran outpost - this gives you a mass creature producer and another factory for a forbidden watchtower - another man-land that can block bigger creatures.

Drop the black vise and the tooth of ramos for another swords to plowshare and an exile, drop the balance and land tax for 2 more exiles.

This gets rid of some of the power - but these only really help early in the game. The exiles and swords will maintain clear paths for your griffins to fly over... If their running creaturless you can sideboard these out and put in your power cards.

One or two coat of arms could really blow your opponent away!!!

That's the best I could do for you.

Exiles' seem to depend on your opponent attacking; if you plan to face passive opponents, maybe Pacifism would be better. Speaking of which, are they better than Kirtar's Desire? You really don't want blockers, not attackers.

I think you ought to keep the Tax and Balance in and perhaps include an Armageddon or two. Reset buttons are always good in case things aren't going your way.

You don't mention a format so a Sol Ring might be good also :)

Webslinger's right about the exiles... keep the tax, balance, and throw in a geddon or 2...

Vengeful dreams may not be bad as a defensive card if creatures get to be too much for you.... Humility may also be an option until you're ready to beat down your opponent. Just make sure you have a way of getting rid of it.

This just hit me - try the sol ring, and some grim monoliths in place of the fellwar stones, then make room for a voltaic key!!!! Mana Engines are running baby!!!

About the only way to speed up a Griffin deck would be as the
others have suggested. 1 Sol Ring and 3 Stones might be the
way to go. One other option might be 1 Ring and 3 Pearl
Medallion.

Have you tryed Shelter in the Passage slot? It doesn't allow you
deal the damage but would allow you to draw a card. More or
less replacing itself. I guess it really depends on how much Fire
gets directed at your head.

I think you you might have one to many Golden Feathers. But
thats a matter of choice.

Medallions are nice....

Man when we all begin thinking as a conglomerate, we need to copyright the final deck idea so it isn't used to win Worlds by someone we weren't helping...

Well, I think Kirtar's Desire is better...it have less mana cost. The truth is that I am using Kirtar's Desire instead of Pacifism because the objective is to slow down my oponent while building my Griffins army.

Vengeful Dreams...huh, I'll save mine for my almost-complete birds theme deck. I love theme decks, when it's finished I'll show it to you all.

True, true, Exile is conditional. I'll use just 2, maybe, or maybe I shoud add Pacifism or Arrest instead.

I should consider use Shelter, I'll test it, but I think it fits better on my almost-done birds deck.

Man, I really needs that Aegis of Honor. It fits perfectly. With it I can even trade the Desires for Pacifism or even Arrest.

Sol Ring? You can actually have one Nowdays only if you born with one on your hand (And hopefully the doctor don't sneak in and steal it...). If I had one, I should use some Moxes too, whatever...

Ah, all my decks are for weekend casual play in duels or multiplay, except if I say it is not...like that Blue/Red Common deck. (someone remembers it?).

I built an angel deck that has a worse speed problem. My solution was 4 Medallions and 2 Urza's Incubators. I started having 4th turn iridescent Angels. try them they free up the mana.

I consider Sol Rings in a "Tier 2" of the "power" cards... and they were uncommon, so they were easier to pick up (I guess back in the day). But any kind of mana acceleration would be helpful, from the Fellwar Stone to the Marble Diamond...

If you look on ebay you can find a Sol Ring for $3-$5. If you are playing type 1 casual you NEED to own this card. There are very few decks in which this can't simply replace one of your lands.

I don't really think you need the Black Vise, unless you've got a blue player in your group who likes to abuse card drawing. Even if you do, I don't think this card is great in here - it doesn't have synergy with anything else in the deck (plus its easy for the opponents to play around). Plus it only picks on 1 of your opponents, so he/she will usually remember it.

I agree with the general consensus to use Pearl Medallion instead of Marble Diamonds for mana acceleration. Actually, Urza's Incubator isn't a bad idea at all.

You need a way to kill enchantments and artifacts. Some people like disenchant, some like Seal of Cleasing, some like Aura of Silence (my favorite). Your pick.

Honorable Passage and Kirtar's Desire are probably play environment picks, but you could do better than both. If you know multiple people are playing red, then the Passage is a bomb. But if they aren't, well then its just blah. I'm personally not a fan of Kirtar's Desire, just because its usually very easy for people to play around. I'd play something sneaky, like Humble or Chastise.

E-bay does no good when you live in Brazil.

Whatever, my next trades will be for bunchs of medallions and one or two sol ring.

I have a Aurora Griffen and I think you should add it to your deck even though it isn't that powerful. You can get it in a Planeshift pack.

I think incubators are the way to go. This means 2 griffins turn 4. Not that bad.
Someone said, that charmed griffin lets you put artifacts/enchantments into play for free. Thats not right. It only affects your opponents.

My thoughts on griffins are like this:

You would like to play tethered griffin, because its the only cheap one. Fortunately we have land tax, whick are allway good, and help us pay for the overcosted griffins. Mtenda griffin + sneak attack is a great combo, so splashing red makes sense. Reset buttons are good, so why not play jokulhaups or obliterate, which fortunately leaves our land tax and sneak attack on the table. These are not the worst things to have after jokulhaups! If played the right time, a mistmoon griffin died, putting another griffin into play.
If you dont feel bad about comboes or manascrew, you might play lands edge or seismic assault too. Comboes with land tax.

Thats how I intend to play griffins. But I dont know if I´m ever going to make the deck...
