Getting around NT admin stuff

For some reason, my NT computer at work is not accepting "secure" sites, so I can't buy anything or d/l stuff that requires logins. They also disabled my Tools/Internet Options. Is there any way to get around this by hokeying around with the registry and stuff, to manually set some values?

When you say "not accepting", do you mean that those IP addresses are blocked? usually yo can convert it to the decimal equivalent to get around IP-filters but if it's an actual protocol problem due to them being secure sites (by which i'm assuming SSL) then i don't think just fiddling the address or registry would help...

What they are talking about is using regedit to change the registry settings involved with Internet Options. They have probably set up a policy that change security setting to High and denies internet options. While I understand how to set this up I never looked into how to get around it. Be very careful using regedit though because IT people get really upset if they have to reimage your drive.

Yeah, it's regedit...

I just get the "Page Unaccessible" or whatever (which goes on to say check your security options, blah, blah, blah). I'm hoping there's a bit or setting I can turn on in regedit that will allow viewing those pages.

As far as getting access to Administrator stuff, I just called a friend of mine who is a computer trouble-shooter, and he sugested this...

Go to your Control Pannel, then to Administrative Tools, then to Local Security Policy.

Once in there, go to Local Policies, then User Rights Asignments.

Once in there, play around with the settings under your user ID, or just make it so that All Users can do anything, and you should be able to change any setting on the computer.

You have to be VERY CAREFULL fooling around with these settings, though.

Huh. No Admin Tools that I can see.

There is another Internet Options icon and THAT works when I click on it. I can't figure out what to change so I can reach secure sites though (Security is on Medium right now).

Check the advanced tab
under security
see is use ssl 2.0 and 3.0 are checked
