In Onslaught, Armageddon is almost a sure thing to come back. Also, a tribe system much like Upheaval's is in the works, as well as a keyword based mechanic I know nothing about. This should make up for kicking IN out.

God I hope not (re: 'Geddon). Where did you get this information? Armageddon is the last thing we need right now.

Thanks for the info, but I hope you're wrong. ;)

That info seems really, really, really wrong.

If it was printed, it would dominate type 2 completely.

I agree with Jangles and Bo, here. If Geddon were to return to Type 2, it would dominate too much(unless the next cycle does something about it).

Worldgorger fiasco notwithstanding, I'm sure WOTC will have CS enough to control Armageddon.
BTW: Source was gamingetc.com. If they lied about geddon, I'm not looking there anymore.

You wouldnt even have to bother with the Jjin, just use Springing Tiger or any of the other Threshold creatures.

Ewww.... Just the thought of Enforcer-Geddon scares me. Just typing that makes me feel all icky. Eww! :shudders:

I seriously doubt that Wizards would do something stupid like make us choose between Birds and Elves, I mean, reprint Armageddon!

Well, call me scrubby, but I like Geddon. Nothing better than to screw with someone else's mana....

(once again thinking of myself and not the game, although I don't really need any more ;) )

I know what you mean, Spidey. I've always liked the card (even maindecked it in a WW Type 2 tourney deck of mine just before 6th rotated out). And it's kinda fun to suddenly have everyone hate you in a chaos game when you drop the 'geddon. Granted, I haven't been around him all that much, but it's the maddest I've ever seen theorgg:D .

Armageddon would be no more broken than Upheaval.

Besides, I'm really enjoying W/G right now, and the thought of using Mystic Enforcer, Anurid Brushopper and Armageddon in the same deck just makes me smile.

If they aren't reprinting the Geddon, that's okay. I'll settle for Savannah Lions or Swords to Plowshares. :D

Upheaval the universal bounce card or Upheaval the concept set?

Umm.... thats pretty broken. Being able to play Wrath of God + Armageddon + Tranquillity + Hatred in a b/u deck for 8 mana sounds fair to me.

Read between the lines of this article then:

Power at a Price

I think it's coming back in 8th.

Besides, Wizards seems to think recently that white is about power rares and reams of crap cards, so why not?

I get this:

XML/XSL (D:\Web\XML\articles\mtgcom_daily_bb32.xml) is not valid. Error: The system cannot locate the object specified. Location: line 0, column 0

when I click on it...

It works for me, here's the full link:

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/daily/bb32

Anyway, I think TICM is reading too much into the space between the lines. One could also surmise that various non-Juzam Djinns and Effreeti would be reprinted (but not accidentally bearing Ihf-Bihf's picture) along with every Dual Land except those which count as Islands, and non-Bertrand Lestree Pro Tour players (presuming Lestree doesn't win an Invitational any time soon).

;)

Here's a quote:

So was it the Erhnam or the Armageddon which made Erhnageddon work? Would they even work in modern day Magic? We’ve got Erhnam around for the next two years, so at least half of that puzzle has the potential solution.
This really could go either way, I guess.

Anyhow, I understand why people would want Armageddon to come back -- heck, I always liked Armageddon myself, and would gladly abuse it if it did in fact return -- but I maintain that it would be bad for the environnment. Decks will be forced to become faster (it would certainly give white weenie decks as nice boost though) causing decks with late-game plans to be loaded with counters (or Sacred Ground) to hope to survive that long.

So I think that Armageddon won't be reprinted (yet). I doubt they'd consider returning it in the same set that they kiled the Elves. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Wrath of God got the axe.

On the other hand, R&D has shown an eagerness to shake up the enivronment, so by this point I guess nothing would surprise me.

Reading the article, it sounds like Erhnageddon worked because you destroyed your land (presumably forests) as to negate his drawback. I would think that it worked because you were destroying land period (with it affecting your opponent the most, since you presumably had elves or birds or something) and thus hosed your opponent from playing anything that might be able to deal with the Djinn (after all, 5 turns and your opponent's dead). Thus, I would think that any land/mana denial might work well with Erhnam Djinn, although I guess that hasn't happened because he's been out for a while and there hasn't been any new sightings of him (has there?).

Terravore - you could basically 2nd turn terravore, 3rd Krosan Beast and 4th turn geddon... I'd be all up for that...

I run a deck like that now with Terravore and Krosan Beast, if nothing else is in the graveyard - just the lands and the geddon give you threshhold.

Any takers???...
