Well, Ravnica's been nuts...I've been going nuts like a rabid wombat with Ravnica. I really am fiending for this set! So this is hopefully one of my last submissions for now...but I have to share my ecstasy

OK, I know 3rd turn kills sound duelish but hear me out. This deck will suffer cranial extraction like mad and be left with nothing but trash. A great combo deck indeed, but if it can't go off by turn 5 it's over because all you're doing is sitting there taking beats. Speed will probably be necessary to duck under spells like naturalize and T2 counterspells. Basically it's one of those combos I want to see go off once and then pack up, go home cackling, dismantle it into one of my utter disregards for mana curve decks. I would like to try it at FNM (once) though from what I've heard people are going to run this deck anyway at Champs...I care not, just need to see it go off once in front of a stranger...kinda like when jokey smurf hands you a present you know it's going to sting your eyes with love.

Here's my build:

--Eye of the Pedantic Combo Player (A Fusillade is when multiple igniting weapons attack all at once, like a battery of artillery firing in sync)--

4 birds (only creature I think you need really)

4 early harvest
4 rampant growth
4 kodama's reach
4 heartbeat of spring

4 Flame Fusillade
3 reach through the mists
3 telling time
2 Flames of the Blood Hand (or some other sort of instant to keep things going, could forgo this for more card drawing)

4 eye of the storm

14 forests
5 Mountains
5 Islands

Only basic to work with early harvest & land fetch sorceries...Green powers it out and the heartbeat gives you the double blue.

So here's the summary of the ideal hand. Also, you probably want to let your opponen go first, drawing the 8th card with this deck seems pretty vital (metnally, I haven't touched it in cardboard yet)

1st turn: play forest (F) -tap F - bird

2nd: play F - tap FF, bird for 1 - Heartbeat of spring

3rd: play Island (I) - Tap FFI (6 mana) - Early Harvest (3 mana, leave UUG) - tap FFI again (9 mana) - Eye of the storm <EOS> (GG left) - tap bird (GGG now) - Early Harvest <EH> (need 2 to work) - trigger <EOS> - play <EH> effect - tap GGI (6 mana) - play rampant growth <RG> (4 mana left, GGGU)- trigger <EOS>- <RG> effect for Mountain (M) (4 lands) - <EH> effect- tap FFIM (12 mana) - play telling time <TT> - trigger <EOS> - <RG> effect (get M) (5 lands) - <EH> effect - <TT> effect (got those answers yet?) - tap FFIMM (22 mana) - play flame fusillade <FF> (18 mana left no mana-cost worries now) - trigger <EOS> - <RG> effect (I guess you can get an I now) (6 land) - <EH> effect - <TT> effect - <FF> effect - tap your 6 lands and EOS deal 7 dmgs to opponent - play a sorc./inst. like kodama's reach ideally or draw, faster if you have another land fetcher <KR> - trigger <EOS> - <RG> effect (7 land) - <KR> effect (8 land) - <TT> effect, just to be different - <EH> effect - <FF> effect (deal 8 dmgs, total 15 dmgs dealt) - play a spell like reach through the mists <RM> you've hopefully drawn one up (17 mana left) - trigger <EOS> - <RG> effect (9 land) - <KR> effect (10 land) - <TT> effect - <RM> effect - <EH> effect - <FF> effect - tap 5 land for 5 dmgs...

20 dmgs dealt to opponent For the Win! Could probably draw up enough answers and thin the land out that through luck you could kill every person at the table unless it was a 10 person melee or some other outrageous format.

Probably best to line up all the cards removed from game by EOS and point to each as you play each effect for clarity.

I'm sure you may find another more efficient way to victory. FF gets past COP red etc... by individual points. Sick! But so vulnerable! Good reason to play Time Stop & counters somewhere against the mirror match so it's paced.

Just want this to go off once...then I'm done...move on, or trick it out with mindmoil, warp world, twincast for casual madness type things...

So yes you need incredible top deck love and naturalize is a fast spell that get get under your 3 turn ideal clock here. But hey!? It's a cute one trick pony that will eat carrots from your hand and give you sloppy kisses. :p

Suggestions, criticisms, diagnoses of my insanity?

Was my play order/stack ruling correct? Yes an instant by your opponent messes things up! A naturalize would take the EOS out, but you and your opponent have copies of all the spells to play through. Hopefully you have the better base, because true, the Heartbeat of Spring does give your oppoent the opportunity to cranial extract you their 3rd turn very easily. May want to pack Blaze instead of flames of the bloodhand to deliver the fell blow after you get your mana up in order to compensate for your opponent not letting you win.
