G Multiplayer deck: Its a party!

Once again, I am posting a deck geared towards chaos games.

Considering the rather long post/rant I left in the CPA Magic Issues Forum ("On Party Cards and Player Interaction"), I feel compelled to post a deck reflecting my comments. Everyone gets to play stuff, but you benefit the most from it.

Its a party!

4x Hunted Wumpus
4x Lumbering Satyr
4x Stampeding Wildebeest
4x Spore Frog
4x Veteran Explorer
2x Spike Weaver

4x Invigorate
4x The Tempest block Fog with buyback
3x Creeping Mold
2x Tranquility
2x Gaea's Blessing

4x Mystic Compass
2x Zuran Orb

16x Forest
4x Treetop Village

The strategy is simple enough. Nothing costs more than 4 to cast. Using the Wildebeests upkeep cost, you can get people to play scads of creatures by bouncing the Wumpus to your hand to play again. The Satyr guarantees combat against green mages, initially, but quickly spreads to other players once you start using the Mystic Compass.

The Fog-type cards keep you alive longer (an inevitable target, what with big creatures and forests and all). The Treetop Villages assure you some aggression when a creature-sweeper is played. The Tranquilities and Creeping Mold get rid of the stalling enchantments and artifacts that hold up a good game. There are even a few ways to get rid of your forests, should you feel the need too.

I considered adding Deadfall(s) (from Legends -- enchantment, 2G, you can block creatures with forestwalk), but I don't own any. Besides, that removes a lot of the fun.

Happy gaming!

What does Veteran Explorers do again? Also, Wall of Blossoms or Multani's Acolyte is nasty with the Beests. I also like the ability to snap the Weaver back to your hand. You ever see the card Afiya Grove? Just found that card recently, pretty cool.

Another extremely fun card is Titania's Chosen.

Also, since you have no enchantments yourself, Tranquil Grove is a nice option so your opponents never play.

Last thing I see, you've got 6 reusable fogs in the deck. The spore frogs might be overkill, why not go with the good ol speedy Llanowar elves.
-------
On a side note, I was thinking about an evil combo with Mystic Compass: Spreading Algae, start wiping out all their lands by turn 3 with a Llanowar or BoP. It even comes back to their hand from a disenchant. Not fun at all, just cruel.

M-

I have all those cards (and Hunting Moa and Deranged Hermit) in my Wildebeest deck. The purpose of this deck is lots of creatures, unblocked. Fun for everyone!

The Fogs are for when they target me.

Veteran Explorer is a 1/1 for G. When it dies, all players can get a land from their library.

If you wanted to go white green, you could add

Lord Magnus
3WWG, Summon Legend 4/3, Legends Uncommon
First strike
Creatures with plainswalk or forestwalk may be blocked as if they did not have either ability.
Illus. Mark Tedin

Lord Magnus.

I'd like everyone to dedicate a portion of thier soul to Lord Magnus. I know I have.

Lord Magnus is awesome. For those of you who haven't seen the artwork, you haven't lived a full life yet. Mark Tedin is the bomb. The artwork of the card is a definite factor in gameplay. As is the "laff" factor that comes whenever you gain the special ability to block plainswalkers. Your opponents will never kill Magnus, because he is so cool.

My brother had a deck with Magnus. Back in the day. It was real old-school.
[me] falls into a hypnotic memory trance.

One of my favorite MP decks was mostly blue with Gauntlets of Chaos, Donate, Confiscate, Enchantment Alteration, Crown of the Ages, Grinning Totem, Cursed Totem, Time Twister, Misdirection, Juxtapose, Polymorph, Clone, Mind Bomb, Siren's Call, Backlash, and Reverberation. Splashed Green included Ghazban Ogres (always with a wanderlust or two), Living Plane, and Lured-Regenerating Aisling Leprechauns. I had to take out the Zur's Weirding because the other players came to a unified agreement to take turns using it on whatever I drew. :( *sniff, sniff* But it was fun the first few times I got it out. I also played with 4 Weakstones to slow the game down and maximise the length of the insanity. I called it "Who the hell owns this card anyway?"

I rarely win MP games anymore because people tend to gang up on me right from the start. But it's worth it. Ooh it's worth it.

Try these for causing chaos in multiplayer games (99% are only legal in "fun" games and are quite hard to find), it's from my list of cards to choose from during MP games:

- Hall of Gemstone
- Urza's Set Enchantment: "during each player's upkeep that player may put a +1/+1 counter on any creature"
- Ghazban Ogre + Wanderlust/Festering Wound
- INFERNO!!!!!!! (the best instant ever)
- Jokalhaups
- Armagheddon Clock
- Syphon Soul
- Lands (there are two I think) that pass to different players when tapped for mana. + Psychic Venom + Citadel of Pain.
- Ankh of Mishra
- Gauntlets of Chaos
- Chaos Lord +wanderlust/festering wound
- Chain Lightning
- Cuombajj Witches
- Word of Command
- Crumbling Sanctuary
- Angel's Trumpet (artifact that gives all creatures the ability to attack without tapping and forces them to attack each turn)
- Mind Bomb
- Truce
- Living Plane
- Blood Moon
- Phyrexian Infiltrator
- Juxtapose
- Polymorph
- Twilight's Call/All Hallow's Eve
- Time Twister
- Wheel of Fortune
- Winds of Change
- Mana Clash
- Chaos Orb/Confetti
- Grinning Totem
- Fork
- Control Magic
- Color Lace (all 5)
- Aisling Leprechaun + Regeneration
- Ovinomancer
- Zur's Weirding
- Excavation
- All 5 of the Mongers (+Iff-Biff Efreet if you have one)
- Hypnotic Terrain
- Howling Mine
- Enchantment Alteration
- Crown of the Ages
- Invigorate (never pay the cost, always use the alternate payment)
- Varchild's Crusader (the one with the cumulative upkeep give target opponent a 1/1 red token)
- Donate
- Misdirection
- Reverberation
- The Abyss
- Eureka
- Chaos Sphere
- Wandering Eye (all players play with thier hands revealed)
- Chains of Mephistopheles
- Brine Hag
- In the Eye of Chaos
- Ichneumon Druid
- Aluren
- Mana Maze
- Season of the Witch
- Worms of the Earth
- Spreading Plague
- Psychic Battle
- Task Mage Assembly
- Siren's Call
- Nettling Imp
- Pure Reflection
- Winter Orb
- Meekstone
- Weakstone
- General Jarkheld, The Artic Fox

Then win with Coalition Victory or the one that has seven omen counters and at the end the person with the most life wins. I can't wait to try that in combo with the Ghazban Ogres and Festering Wound!

---------------

And for the record there is one plainswalking creature (other than the players that is): Righteous Avengers. They're 3/1 before the Crusades, Jyhad's, Angelic Choirs, and so forth start kicking in. A friend of mine ended a white weenie vs white weenie stalemate with a 12/11 Amrou Kithkin and a 14/11 Righteous Avengers. Had his opponent been playing with Lord Magnus, he wouldn't have died. Well, the Kithkin would still have killed him, but he'd have had two turns to draw a Swords to Plowshares instead of one.

Astounding!

I must say, even I had forgotten some of those cards. But to set the record straight, the only floating land I am aware of is Rainbow Vale.

And its Varchild's Warriders that generate the tokens. Poke around, as there are a few decks posted (at least one of mine) that make good use of the Warriders.
