Front Page problems

train: I'm not sure what you mean about a "back page", but it sounds like code that I can't get to or create, only Ed.

Unless you mean something like someone creates their own webpage that mirrors are front page, which is again html or whatever code that I don't know nor can host.

rokapoke: Good idea - anyone can do it, although it probably only applies to turgy22 and maybe Notepad (unless KJ has some reports). Unfortunately, there's no way to update or make an annoucement on the front page to let other people who don't normally go to the forums that the articles are happening here (if there was, then the article system would be working anyway).

The backpage would be a page you are redirected to if there are issues on the main page for whatever the checks are created to check on...

Well - and for most programmers this isn't the case... but in the programs we use - semi-antiquated, semi-updated... I've found that there are different functions/modules that do the same thing, and put the information in 1 area...

Example - Entering Comments...

This could easily be one module called up every time adding to comments is needed... instead, there are multiple modules that do this same thing...

So if for some reason, one of them errors, and stops working, there is another way to enter the information, and still ahve it in the same area...

I relate it to multiple lane highways... if one lane is blocked, the other is the throughway until the blocked one is cleared...

But hopefully they'll be back on board now... <crosses fingers>

There are a whole bunch of Notepad's fiction articles, if I remember correctly...

Despite what seems to be a new article on the front page, you'll probably get a

message when trying to click on it... we're trying to get it resolved (or more aptly, hopefully Ed can look into it).
