From MTGnews: new Dual Lands in Invasion

Did any of you see the latest Invasion rumors on MTGnews? According to their source, which claimed a 90% degree of accuracy, there are uncommon dual lands for the friendly colors only. They come into play tapped, but other than that, there are no drawbacks.

Then, there are these rare artifacts, 3cc, which produce dual colors. Essentially, they're Sol Grails on steroids. I don't know if they come into play tapped or deal you damage.

These ARE rumors, mind you, 90% accurate or not. So take them as you will. I'm just alerting people to its presence. ;) You can go to www.mtgnews.com to see for yourself.

Now I for one take rumors with a grain of salt, but for this latest rumor, I am wishing that it's true. I have always expressed the need for better, less rare dual-type lands. Hopefully we will get such in Invasion.

There are other rumors there, but I think the dual lands / artifacts are the most significant ones. :)

Me too! I can now unscrew my jar of dual-color decks that I held back cause of mana leakage...

Defintion clarification is in order:
Dual Land: A non-basic land that counts as both a <land card type> and a <land card type>.
Lands that produce two colors: A non-basic land that allows you tap for specifed mana color ie Adarkar Wastes (Blue mana or White mana).
So my questuion is; "Are these Dual Lands or lands that can produce two colors?".

Well, the exact wording the source used on MTGnews was "dual" lands, and NOT "dual-colored" lands. However, in casual speak, the term "dual" is used to represent lands which produce two colors as well as the original, perfect lands from the Alpha/Beta/Unlimited/Revised which counted as being two basic lands for purposes of effects.

I personally don't know which of the two the rumor refers to, but it's probably a land which produces two colors of mana. There are a lot of basic land searchers as well as hosers, so I think it would cause too much of a headache to make them count as basic land types. Then again, R&D has made stranger decisions.

From my side, I don't really care whether or not they count as basic land types. What matters to me is if they are indeed uncommon (instead of being rare), and that their only catch is coming into play tapped (as opposed to inflicting damage or remaining tapped for a round).

I think the duel thing is true. I also think it is one of the smartest things Wizards has done for a while to A) reprint them and B) make them uncommon.

B being my favorite thing:)

I certainly hope its true, not wanting to spend ridiculous money to get them.

...than WotC would really have taken Magic into the next level.
I have a lot of 2 colored decks, and even 3, but I don't own any Duals, Citys, or anything other than the uncommon Duals from Tempest which aren't good.

If those lands are Uncommon, and they do produce 2 colors, then Magic will be so much fun, especially when someone, like me, could afford all those great Duals.

Okay, anyone that doesn't believe me, go look at the pictures for the uncut preconstructed sheet. It shows two lands side-by-side with a half-black, half-red text box. The fact that there are two of them on the sheet means they're uncommon. Secondly, the text box is the same as the pain-lands. However, it still remains to be seen what the actual text is for the cards.

Dammit! I kept stopping here cause I thought I saw my name!

Anyways, I HOPE they're basic duals, but I doubt it. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
