Form of the Dragon

Is it just me, or are they REALLY playing it up with the metagame? Resetting life at the end of all turns, counting spells played so far this turn... I guess it had to happen eventually, but I'm not sure I like the flavor direction, giving red Moat ...

Red is accumulating abilities faster and faster. Use Form with Necro to constantly reload your hand.

Use it with worship (or Ali from Cairo) to keep between 1 and 5... It is expensive, and 3 colors can deal with it (Green, White, and Blue). But against black...

Nah, I wouldn't worry so much about it BigBlue.

It's terribly expensive, and it's color does not lend well to the control deck type build it would most likely have to find itself in. Minus some crazy Rector combo of course.

Plus if it does get out of hand each color has enough ways to get around it. Black just needs to deal 5 damage or force a loss of 5 life, easy enough to metagame for. Actually, it does 75% of the work itself in a victory for MBC.

This is a card to be enjoyed, not feared

true.... I am not really "worried" about it... more the trend. I yearn for the simpler days, when it was more of a fantasy game, not Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and Netrunner (the new cardface).

I liked thinking the spells didn't know they were part of a game, they were simply summoned or used and didn't see the metagame aspects of the game. I'm just VERY anachronistic I guess... I hate Fax machines, telephones and email too.... :D

It's a wonder you're on here then!
I was thinking the same thing Spidey :D.

I see your point BigBlue. However, I think this in a once in a blue moon type of card and should be allowed to bend the rules some. I'm also not against red getting enchantment removal, as it will most likely be extremely limited and/or overcosted - like Phyrexian Tribute. At least it's got the option, but its' power level will keep the card in casual where it belongs.

Change is good! Usually, which brings me to my next point - I definitely don't like the new card design. Magic did not need that drastic of a re-design.

I agree...

That's exactly why I want to see my opponent's face when I play a Borg ship... I'll be running 4 base deck... and 4 USS Enterprises in the Sideboard...

It ok, I guess

But what other things do they plan on bringing to the gaming atmosphere?

Hot Dog and Peanut Vendors... maybe a M:TG theme song or two!...:p

I think what makes form so interesting is that it gives Red a Reset for life...

Unless somethng like Stompy runs over the red mage, or another one burns him... He could live forever...

"What about Forsaken Wastes?..."

a mage trapped as a dragon... why not pacify him? :D :p

Forsaken wastes was blacks equivalent of this powerful enchantment. While great in combo's and other decks, it set the surrounding area as just what the card states, a forsaken waste!

When you see the waste, you see no life at all except that of your opponent sitting across from you still building up for his next attack while suffering the heat and burning sun as you yourself do.

Should I become a writer? Naaa
