These are just few songs that I feel everyone should have the right to enjoy. They're nothing without class. They're not your usual stuff either. Each tells a big story, which in turn, leads to a bigger theme.

This is merely to inform you of the ear-candy you may have been missing. They're in no order...

"Safe From Harm," by Massive Attack -- Probably one of the greatest wise-man story I've ever heard. Intelligent music with intelligent vocals. Although this was a 1991 product, "Safe From Harm" still retains a very, very current sound-style. It sounds like anything from todays music. Timeless.

"Gorecki," by Lamb -- The most heartfelt lyrics you'll ever hear. Very sweet, with an edge that is of mystery and darkness. A love story that anyone can relate to. Very deep, very emotional -- if there's a single song you'd wanna try from this list, count on Gorecki to be it. As you listen, you'll feel what's at the horizon...and when you finally get to see it, you'll wish you never had -- it'll go by too quickly...and then you'll play it again...

"Take the Long Way Home," by Faithless -- A very powerful message given with very few words. Almost like an enigma, "Take the Long Way Home" will be a ride unlike any other simply because of its universally-adored beauty. The beauty really is felt as the track ends -- you'll be glad that the track, itself, had taken the long way home...

"Flatlands," by Delerium -- Imagine a Magic: the Gathering movie. Now imagine an MTG fantasy landscape. Imagine beauty. Should there be an MTG movie, "Flatlands" would fit onto the soundtrack. The track has been graced by an angel's voice, and touched by the keys of a grand piano. You'd think this would be a slow, mellow track...but I'll leave it up to you to agree with me.

"Beyond the Invisible," by Enigma -- I could have chosen any other Enigma song, and if you listen, you'd adore it anyway. However, every Enigma fan agrees that "Beyond the Invisible" is something that simply cannot be beat again, not by Enigma, and certainly not by anyone else. Everyone who dislikes or is not much into Enigma also agrees that "Beyond the Invisible" is most likely one of the most amazing, epic, spiritually-felt pieces of art that have ever been painted. The experinece is just amazing. The vocals are more amazing. There's nothing like it...

You don't see these bands on MTV for a reason: the above bands do not create music, but artwork...

Of course MTV likes to play anything thats mainstream, which tends to be dull music anyways IMHO. You wont find the above songs/bands, much-less Dead can Dance, William Orbit, Dj Mystic,...the list goes on,... ever on MTV :(

"Beyond the Invisible," by Enigma
Can't say I've listened to this yet, I now have a reason to do so.

"Flatlands," by Delerium
This song is good, really good, but IMO nothing tops Aria or even Consensual Worlds.

While we're on the subject of "not music, but artwork"...

*cough*Prog rock*cough*

Anyway, if Delerium and Enigma have long songs that's enough for me. I like long songs.

Spiderman, they play a lot of videos during their "After Hours" times, which starts really late at night and lasts till the morning -- all music videos. Of course, I have no clue who'd be staying up that late on normal basis...

Wow, Aku, you listen to Dead Can Dance too? Now them...you *really* wont see on MTV. :D And...I do know Aria....but...what's "Consensual Worlds"?

And speaking of Dead Can Dance, here's one more suggestion: Persian Love Song. What Lisa Gerard can do with her voice is just too good to be true...honestly. She also did the whole soundtrack for the very, very well done movie, Gladiator.

Speaking of movies, Enigma's "Gravity of Love" is on the soundtrack for the new movie, The Scorpian King. They also had "The Eyes of Truth" on the trailer for The Matrix, and "Age of Loneliness" in the soundtrack for the movie, Sliver. Also, Delerium's "Terra Firma" was on the Tomb Rider soundtrack.

Just more needless information...:)

Oh yes!

Duke, I bought the third enimga experiance. I understand why you like Beyond the Invisible... it sounds like something you'd like.

Ugh... Terra Firma. Don't try dancing to it, its fast... and when you have a super energetic dance teacher it doesn't help.

...I'm very happy! I actually have had influence on a couple of CPA members to go out and try out Enigma and Delerium...:)

Ademis -- I do like it. Don't you? The whole album is just a treasure hold...with songs like Morphing Thru Time, Beyond the Invisible, The Child in Us, Almost Full Moon, The Roundabout, and my personal favourite, T.N.T for the Brain. Simply, I haven't bought nor heard of any other album that is as perfect as Enigma 3. :D

Massive Attack and Faithless are both very good. I think that`s what Duke was trying to say. I dont find much beauty in them, I have to say... just comfortingly smooth beats that lull you into forgetting you are listening to lyrics with a message.

Faithless and Massive Attack are *not* "beautiful." They're both trip-hop oriented. However, the *selections* I've chosen are both pretty "different" than their other works...I should say. "Safe From Harm" is just plain beautiful. And if "Take the Long Way Home" can't be considered as "beauty," I don't know what is...

Its a song from the "Semantic Spaces" album. Listen to it once, you won't regret it :)

It's that song. I already knew it...just didn't remember the name. Yup, it's pretty cool...and it's the only Delerium song that sounds that way. :D Very "after the club" song. :)

Do I like it?

Indeed.

Morphing through time is my favourite. Everytime I listen to Beyong the Invisible, I think of you dukling. I was tempted to listen to the CD on the way home.... but I knew you'd ask if I listened to it from beginning to end without stops, so I did just that.

I hear lots of common themes between Enigma 3 and 4, don't you?

I need to listen to it more, I've only had for about a week and I've had very little time (plus a crappy CD player... bah!)...

Man, Ademis, try listening to any Enigma CD in a surround-sound system. Amazing. Simply...amazing.

Morphing Thru Time...ah...his voice...just...so...amazing.

Beyond the Invisible...my God...his voice is even more amazing.

T.N.T for the Brain...when he screams "TNT FOR THE BRAIN!", isn't that just the best sounding scream you've ever heard?

Also, I'd like to let you know that the female vocalist is Sandra Cretu, his beautiful, beautiful, beautiful wife. All that erotic breathing...that's her.

As for the relationship between Enigma 3 and Enigma 4...all Enigma CDs are related...did you notice how the ending of Enigma 3 is the beginning of Enigma 4?

Listen to track 3 in Enigma 3 (and it's track 3 for a reason :D):

"The first is the father...the second is the mother...and the third...is the child."

Cretu declared that E1 is the Father. When you buy it, you'll hear why. E2 is the Mother, again, when you buy it...it's obvious. E3, is the child. It'll take you some time to figure out why, but it's *very* clear and obvious...and quite genius too.

I wrote a whole documantry about Enigma 3 and Beyond the Invisible, deconstructing it completely. Maybe I'll share it here someday...

Each Enigma CD has an enigma...try to solve it. :) Wait till you get to E2, that'll really puzzle you...:D

The echo is one thing, but the initial scream! Wow...:)

Those pictures are funky...by the way. :)
