For those of you that are fans of Adult Swim (on Cartoon Network) you're probably aware of this program - a few of you may already watched it.

For those of you that haven't, what is the matter with you? This show has to be bar-none the best (if not, the most confusing) anime program to ever hit the Adult Swim lineup (or ANY American lineup for that matter). It features a twisting plot, bizarre characters and a protagonist that you can understand and relate to and lost of charcters that you...well, can't. They vary from hyper and semi-erotic to annoying and loveable to silent and deadly...and it has a powerful soundtrack that really moves the show along.

With all of the re-runs on Tv right now, I would have to call this my favourite animated program (although, my tastes have a tendency to change...)

All I can say is, the English version makes a lot more sense. I first saw the series in Japanese (w/ english subtitles, but still), and it made my head hurt.

the most insane anime ever! I love this show the dub is great, whats not to love.

As for the message, well you really don't need to understand whats going on to enjoy it, but from what I understand its supposed to convey a child coping with the adult world, sort of a "coming of age type deal" and I see that somewhat, but when something gets smashed in the face with a guitar about twice an episode you tend to lose the message.

the songs are great. Ride a shooting star is freakishly addictive. too bad its only 6 episodes long, but then again it being longer might ruin it.

Yes FLCL and Fooly Cooly, or Furi Kuri, are all the same show.

It would be nice if the show were longer than six episodes (final episode is on again tonight) but I feel if it were longer my head would explode...

I bet if you watch all 6 back to back you'll develop some sort of violent brain tumor. according to Adult swim they only made one edit in the whole show, and that was in the 6th episode. I have the subtitled episode on my computer, but I haven't figured out what they edited. oh well that'll drive me nuts for about a week. the 5th and 6th episodes are probably my favorites, I don't know why, but the fact that Takun's father was dressed up like Lupin for the first part of the 5th episode was amusing.

I believe the 6th episode originally had a naked rear end in it, and doesn't any longer, but I'm not sure.

And myself, I didn't really care for the show. A little too nonsensical at times, and those freaky face animations when someone gets excited bug me.

It's definetly a "required taste" show. I like the slapstick comedy/gestures, it reminded me of The Slayers(which is my favorite anime), but I can definetly see how you could be turned off by the show.
