Ok, I am finally trying to participate in FNM until the end of the month when our local shop closes down. This is the deck I am thinkin of taking. Would appreciate the critiques. At the shop, they are not allowing Ravnica yet, so it is 9th ed. and Kamigawa Block.
Megrim Assasination Deck: 60 Cards
Creatures:
3 Will-O'-The-Wisp
4 Hypnotic Specter
3 Royal Assasin
2 Ashen-Skin Zubera
2 Ember-Fist Zubera
2 Brothers Yambushi
Spells:
4 Megrim
4 Walking Nightmare
3 Dark Banishing
1 Honden of Night's Reach
1 Honden of Infinite Rage
2 Lava Spike
2 Shock
2 Stone Rain
Artifacts:
2 Icy Manipulator
2 Howling Mine
1 Umezawa's Jitte
Land:
10 Swamps
10 Mountains
Ok, I thought of going all black, but had a few holes in it that the red can cover up for me. Considered a Sideboard of 2 more of each red spell, and 2 more Icy's and 2 more Howling Mines. (Although I would have to borrow the artifacts since I do not have them on hand.) Also would include Blood Moons in the side board. (always fun!)
The deck runs fairly well, and surprisingly fast. I am not so concerned with winning the whole thing as with just having fun and playing competitively. My 2 main win conditions are the Jitte and the Megrims. If nothing else, the specters and the Zuberas can do thier jobs for me since my opponent will have very little to play and the Icy's and Assasins should take care of most theats, including a nasty little snake deck that has been terrorizing the scene at the card shop.
