Extended Deck--Alluren / Equilibrium

I had this deck put together as a group deck, it was banned after about 4 games b/c no one liked to play against it. I've decided to modify it into a legal extended deck b/c I feel it would win a few games. The reason I feel this deck is so powerful is because it works pretty nicely as a control deck until it gets its combo, cloud of fairies/ghitu slinger.

Enchantments--12
4 Alluren
4 Equilibrium
4 Survival

Creatures--23
4 BoP
4 Wall of Blossoms
3 Academy Rectors
4 Cloud of Fairies
4 Ghitu Slingers
2 Wizard Mentor
1 Uk Organ.
1 Monk Realist
1 Gilded Drake (destroys creature decks)

Mana--24
4 Tropical Islands
4 Cities
4 Volc. Islands
4 Taiga
4 Islands
4 Forests

Other possibilities (for deck and sideboard)
Man o War
Neekrataal or Bone Shredder
Yav. Granger
Shrieking Mogg (tap all critter, Alluren instant)
Emerald Charms
Raven Familiar
E. tutor

The ideal game would go
T1-City or TI, BoP
T2-Equilibrim
T3-Aluren, Cloud of Fairies/Ghitu Slinger (infinite damage)

The combo is relatively easy to get, but just like any combo deck it gets pimp-slapped by disruption. The mana base isn't optimized and I'm not sure how much I really like the rectors.

Any and all suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Just wondering, Under sixth addition rules will this work?
Can triggered abilitys happen more than once?

I'm not sure what the heck I'm tring to say. I just thought there was some kind of rules change in Sixth Ed. that stopped these kinds of combos.

BTW, I think the deck is cool. I'm just not sure if it works under Sixth Ed. rules. Maybe one of the rules Tzars can answer.

Here's the basic make-up of the combo.

Lets says Equilibrium is out.

You play Aluren. All crtitters 3 or less cost 0 to play and can be played as instants.

Play a Cloud of Fairies, untap 2 lands.
Play a Ghitu Slinger, pay 1 to send the CoF back to your hand, deal 2 damage to target player.
Pull 1 in your pool, play CoF, untap 2, use the 1 to send the ghitu back to your hand.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

I can't see how the combo doesn't work under 6th rules (of course it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong).

I think what changed was that under the old rules, you could pay 1 to send the creature you just cast back to your hand.

I'm probably wrong, I often am.

I got shot down on a - Magpie, Apathy, Hermetic study Combo.
Which is probably an entirly different situation.

I know the Magpie/Study combo but I forget what card Apathy is. How about Magpie/Study/Sigil of Sleep

This worked in 5th, but not in 6th.

Apathy

Color=Blue
Type=Enchant Creature
Cost=U
WL(C1)
Text(WL+errata): Enchanted creature doesn't untap during its controller's untap step. ; At the beginning of the upkeep of enchanted creature's controller, that player may discard a card at random from his or her hand. If he or she does, untap enchanted creature. [Oracle 00/02/01]

The discard to untap is a payment and is not forced. [bethmo 97/06/12]

Magpie Enchanted with Apathy, and Hermetic Study.
1. Discard
2. Untap
3. Tap deal 1 damage draw a card
4. Repeat from step 1

Anyway, like I said this is probably different because it happens during the upkeep step.

BTW, I'm really sorry if I messed up your Thread.

Instead of Apathy you can use Mind Over Matter to the same effect. Of course the card is banned so that kind of puts a damper on things.

Don't worry about the thread, any reason to talk about the game is a good one in my book.

I think Mikeymike's combo will work.

The reason why yours didn't, Griffth_se, is because you were relying on "At beginning of upkeep" effects, which only happen once a turn. Mikeymike's effects are not restricted to that kind of thing so he can do it as many times as he wants.

Yeah, I used to think that the FaeriEquiLuren combo couldn't work in 6E. But, that was when I was thinking that you play CoF/tap 2 lands in response/untap 2 lands/use mana in your pool to shot the CoF back to your hand (it doesn't work in 6th ed rules) however, playing the Cof/then do the land cha-cha/ then play the Ghitu Slinger, well now then, THAT'S quite a diiferent story.
Thanks! I disassembled that deck last year and I'm quite sure I'm going to reconstruct it to torment my play group....ha....he-ha.....Ha-ha........Wha-ha-ha.......BWAHAHAHAHA!
BTW, I saw somebody type .\\agic like this, who was that? It's cool.
