Hi, this is my first post here, this looks like a great site. Well onto the deck! Alright we know that elves make alot of mana and well I wanted a cool way to use that mana, and having a sideboard bigger than the deck seemed like an interesting way to go.

4 Karplusan Forest
13 Forest
4 Wirewood Channeler
4 Quirion Ranger
4 Fyndhorn Elves
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Priest of Titania
4 Skyshroud Elf
4 Steely Resolve
2 Mirari
3 Sylvan Library
4 Slate of Ancestry
4 Burning Wish
2 Living Wish

X-Mas wish list (not in the deck, it's the sideboard)

4 Wellwisher
4 Wirewood Symbiote
4 Timberwatch Elves
4 Seeker of Skybreak
1 Collective Unconscience
1 Dregs of Sorrow
1 Reminisce
1 Eradicate
1 Time Stretch
1 Nature's Resurgence
1 Fissure
1 Wake of Destruction
1 Bribery
1 Cultural Exchange
1 Recall
1 Head Games
1 Mind Twist
1 Fireball
1 Rolling Thunder
1 Mogg Infestation
2 Taste of Paradise
1 Time Warp
1 Traumatize
1 Verdant Touch
1 Insurrection
1 Denying Wind
1 Vitalizing Wind
1 Blessed Wind
1 Plague Wind
1 Recoup
1 Twilight's Call
1 Polymorph
1 Blatant Thievery
1 Creeping Mold
1 Desert Twister
1 Arc Lightning
1 Argivian Restoration
1 Regrowth
1 Burning wish
1 Golden Wish
1 Day of the Dragons
Some crazy enchant worlds
1 Overrun
1 Illicit auction

Ok the main focus of the deck is to screw around in multiplayer and find the right card to humourously mess with peoples plans. Either by helping people or slaughtering the leader

Any help would be appreciated on the deck or sideboard, thanks.

(oh just forget gaea's cradle and taiga :) )

Should I add cunning wish to be able to react instantly to situations?

Hey, welcome to the site. I don't really use elves, but it seems to me you just want to swarm your opponent with them and not worry about further diluting the deck with blue.

I'll one-up train and suggest Coat of Arms, but if your friends play tribal too, you may not want to use it since it affects everyone.

I've got a lot of the cards on your wish list; post in the Trader's Forum if you're interested.

Spidey - that's a wish list as in - he wishes for items in it during the game... thus the wishes in the deck... and the sideboard being so huge, that he can wish for just about anything...

You could definitely run some forks, and then wish for even more after mirari-ing the fork....

Good call on the coat of arms spidey - and the way to get around it if everyone is playing tribal - phase it out... though it does take a lot of work...

Ah, okay. But not knowing elves too well, how does he cast the blue in the sideboard like Recall?

It appears that you manabase is shaky. I understand that well over half your elfs provide mana, however 17 lands gives you something well under 25% chance of drawing a land in the opening hand..not good. I suggest finding room for just three more lands...rounding it out to 20.

If this was my deck I would most definitely make room for Timerwatch Elf;

Tap: Target creature gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of Elves in play.
And some hurricanes.

Reason being is you've got elfs which are fast. Get some quick beats on them using Timberwatch. Hopefully draw into a Hurricane, tap out your elves and lands for a huge hurricane...which doesn't target so it isn't misdirectable and burn them out of the game..also good for air defense.

Wirewood Channeler makes any color Spidey, and Skyshroud Elf filters colorless into white or red.

Train: Why would he fork when he's got the Mirari? He can just copy the wishes directly with that. That's the point of the Mirari! So that he can Burning Wish for [card] and later burning wish for [different card] and the first burning wish.

Am I the only one who understands this deck?

Anyway, looks fun for casual multiplayer, but mass removal, or even Pyroclasm and Infest will ruin your day immediately. Why not at least run Bubble Matrix and/or Coat of Arms, they might serve you better than Steely resolves.

Also, you might want to make sure you can recover from mass removal, and the best way would be to wish for a reminisce, (Or a timetwister, heh), to get your dead critters back in the deck. But to pull this off you'll need some lands that produce blue, not just the Channeler.

I cast blue/black off of wirewood channelers. Guess extra copies should go in the sideboard, aswell as all the creatures I have main deck. Also Quirion Elves and any other small green/land utility that comes to mind. Maybe pump the living wishes up to 3-4 so I can find what I need when I need it.

Fork would be golden to play with Mirari. Forking your mirari'd time stretch, and then mirari the fork. Mmmmm. +edit+ unless you can double Mirari ?

Coat of Arms is a used a hell of a lot (except here because no one has them), and everyone plays tribal, everyone (gets sorta annoying, but it helps if others are playing elves for priest, channeler, timberwatch). Timberwacth's go on the wish list.

Hurricane is the way I run my deck now, I either get picked on and die (in multi), or blow everbody to hell in one go and get scowled at, and almost autowin in duelling (except against burn). It's pretty one dimensional, I wanna go all out casual mess with people (not neccesarily killing them, like polymorphing fatties, denying wind some one down to 15 cards see if they can win, actually casting insurrection etc.) .

Random Player: If that's your deck, what's the other pile?
Me: My sideboard
RP::eek:

Reverend Love 15 lands would be a 25% chance that the top (or any single random card) is a land. The chance changes with each draw (ie. getting bigger if I don't draw land, smaller if I do). I run 16-17 right now, usually I'm fine but my mana base may be a bit smoother. I'll take it into consideration.

Thanks for the trading offer Spiderman, but most are low end rares so I'll try buying first.

The other thing I could think more about is two card combo's like verdant touch / eradicate.

Thanks for your suggestions keep em coming.

+edit+ Bubble matrix is good but doesn't protect against terror and it's ilk, maybe 2/2 Resolve / Matrix mix.

Natural Resurgence (right name?) is a good way to recover from mass removal, while being friendly and letting others draw cards.

No - you're not the only one understanding the deck...

My point was -that if he has more resources to start with he can turn that 1 wish into 4 with a fork and mirari...

I'm looking for speed, and not taking your time to get it going... plus - it takes a lot to get mirari out, then use, and before then he could wish and fork...;)

I somewhat agree train, but I think fork is a bit situational to run in here. I'd add more living wishes before that.

I think Bubble matrix may be targeted a little faster in multi (though does have interesting Emperor implications), because of it's universal effect.

+1 Living Wish
+1 Bubble Matrix
-2 Steely Resolve

Should Cunning Wish go in?

No... cunning wish shouldn't go in...

but it would help your deck...

So it's that good then?

With a cunning wish I think I'll need 3 deck boxes plus sleeves for this monstrosity!!!!

Spelljack would be fun though.....

It's too good... only downfall is the mana it takes to wish, and then cast...

Nice deck. Mass destruction will always be a problem to elves. If you in any way will be able to play very black spells, you could try to get your critters back with living death, patriarch bidding or aphetto dredging, or that cc2 enchantment I cant remeber the name of...
Or you can try that new white card (dont remember this name either), which returns all cards to play which was destroyed this turn. Can be wished for with cunnng wish.

Another tricky response to wrath (it is green, and its an instant) is natural affinity. You might not benefit that much from it, but I´m sure the one casting wrath didnt think of it as an armageddon too, and you might quickly recover from your manaloss because of you manaproducing elves.

If you like steely resolve, you might try this instead:

Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary
Color= Green Type= Creature - Elf Legend Cost= GG UD(R)
Text (UD+errata): 2/1. ; {Tap}: Add {G} to your mana pool for each Forest you control.

He dies to wrath, but fits the theme perfectly.
