Here's a fun little casual deck I made based around Door to Nothingness...This deck does best in multiplayer chaos games but can still win about 50% of the time in duels in my experience with it so far....lmk what you guys think!

4x Orim's Chant
4x Peace Talks
3x Invulnerability
3x Bringer of the White Dawn
3x Swords to Plowshares
2x Hanna's Custody
2x Disenchant
1x Balance

Blue:
3x Bringer of the Blue Dawn

Green:
4x Joiner Adept
4x Channel the Suns
1x Regrowth
1x Crop Rotation

Gold:
1x Eladamari's Call

Artifact:
3x Door to Nothingness
3x Doubling Cube
2x Composite Golem
2x Platinum Angel
2x Bubble Matrix
1x Lotus Petal

What is worse than playing Balance in a Door to Nothingness deck?

Using a Black Lotus to cast Snowfall...

Nothing wrong with it actually, when your opponent is using a fast deck and races ahead of you and you drop a balance, that can (and has) totally changed the game around. It's all about buying more time.

I understand why the Balance is there. What I don't understand is why players feel compelled to play with such an awful card as Door to Nothingness, which I hate so very much. Except for the win condition, your deck looks pretty good...

....because playing awful cards is fun!

Showing someone the door is fun too :) (just don't do it too often)

I played with The Doors and used a monogreen deck without joiner adepts. Once a door was untapped in play I'd cast Tooth and Nail (entwined) and looked for 2 composite golems. :)

The exact same reason I still have a Thrull deck...
Because the win is all the sweeter when done with such a ridiculous card as Door to Nothingness :D It's not really that bad a card when you consider that you can instantly win the game for 7 mana (using doubling cube/channel the suns)
The deck actually works pretty well, it just stalls and stalls and stalls some more until the door can be used. It's a real beast in multiplayer chaos games, I haven't lost with it yet in a chaos game.

My favorite is to play Door in a white/blue control deck. Nobody can figure out why I'd play a card like Gemstone Array, until I drop the Door and counter any attempts to remove it.

Isn't Gemstone Array a little slow for playing a door to nothingness? you end up paying twice as much with it...

Well, if it's a W/U control deck, then it isn't trying to win the game very quickly. If you're going to pay ridiculous amounts of mana to win the game, you might as well pay ridiculous amounts of mana to win the game...

And honestly, remember that Gemstone Array DOES give you something to do with all your untapped mana...if your opponent didn't play anything worth countering/whatevering during his turn, dump all your mana into the Array. With Gemstone Array, you're never really tapped out.

He doesn't view it as challenge to try to beat it? :)
He's just like that spidey, lol. I literally let him win 3 games the other day because he was going to quit. He's 35 going on 15,LOL. Guess he doesnt like the challenge, lol. Then he goes out knowing I have no budget and buys about 20 cards just to beat my decks(thinking of COP, Persecute, lol). :)
