I was taking this wizards quiz, and it asked me what expansions I had bought cards from...the set Rivals was among the options. Ive never heard of this set, what is it?

I believe it was an early 2-player game, like Beatdown. It was meant for new players I think. It came with booklets that explained how to play the deck, turn-by-turn as long as it was in its original order.

Rivals was the first "two-player starter set". It featured fourth edition cards and was in the kind of gift box fourth and revised came in.
It featured Mathis and another female wizard teaching two people how to play...
It was fair for a first try, but I can't say too much.
If you could pick one up for $10 or less, do, and sell it to me! It's pretty damn rare, actually!
The rares it features are Clockwork Beast and Jamedae tome. Thus, it really isn't worth anything more than a history lesson.
