Well, all the cards are good. But you have discard and Black Vise. Maybe the Rack would be more appropriate? I don't know, it's hard to say what's better here. But since you don't make them draw cards, or limit their ability to play cards, Vise damage is more avoidable than Rack damage.

Ya know, everyone says that and heres what I tell them.

You would be surprised about the vise, usually it comes out first turn it deals about 5 damage before they get down to four cards (Dream Thrush keeps them manascrewed for a couple of turns usually good for more damage), start the beatdown with Hippies and Drakes, then a wash out with a vice out usually kills them. Last game against a rebel deck I played wash out, at the beginning of their turn they had 12 cards in their hand, that was 8 damage which brought them down to exactly zero.

Besides, I only have one Rack, but I have 3 Black Vises...what would you do in my place?

Put the Rack in also?

I'd fit some Dark Rituals in there so you can get a first turn Hippy.

This is from your available card pool? Do you have Mind Twist?

Query:
Bouncer + wall of distortion = every card is "2BU detroy target creature"

Some good?

Spiderman: Only 1 Mindtwist:( (yes from my cardpool)

Duel: Hmm...sounds like a good idea to me!:)

Okay, I'm working on the deck. Here's so far:

"Poink. Narf."

4 Undermine (Foil? Counterspell?)
4 Waterfront bouncers
4 Chilling apparitions
2 Sleepers robe
2 Wash out
4 Lobotomy
3 Boomerang
4 Repulse
3 Rhystic study
4 Rain of tears
4 Despoil
2 Drake skull cameo
4 Salt marsh
9 Island
7 Swamp

The theory: if they hold it, it will die. You keep their cards in their hand, and use the apparitions and the lobotomies to beat finish them. Apparition stops derm, so that's solved. Undermine stops geddon. Sideboard cremates for nether-go and pyre zombies. Play conservatively with everything but your LD. well?

Ugh, cards I don't have
-4 Undermine
-2 Chilling Apparation
-2 Lobotomy
-2 Rhystic Study
But I'm probably going to pick up a few packs of propecy soon.
Otherwise I looks good, even if it is type 2;)
How do you think a couple of Porcullis would do in this deck? And since they're going to be holding a lot of cards, why not Black Vise?

Hyppies and the Vise both belong in 1.5 format, Darsh dearie. Mind Twist is already back in action (though still restricted, thank goodness!), so you can legally plug it in. Then again, we're the Casual Players Alliance ... not the Pro-Tour obsessed board. Feel free to plug in what you want! :D

Why would your opponent be holding cards when you have a lot of discard, especially the Hippies and Rats to a lesser extent? Because of the bounce? I think your opponent won't have much on the table by the time you get around to bouncing stuff, probably not enough to get the Vises to work. Usually when someone plays against a discard deck they start casting stuff so they can at least use it instead of it getting discarded.

So I'd probably concentrate on the discard aspect and beef it up with Dark Rituals and your Mind Twist and Racks.

which is why discard/bounce is so effective.

Because they don't GET to play anything, t all comes back to their hand, and then you get rid of it. DOn't bother with viseling, just get rid of their hand and drop an chilling app. Once they have no hand, and can't hold one, the game is as good as yours.

Maybe I'd better look at what some of the newer cards do, but it just looks to me like there's NOT enough bounce in there to make it worthwhile (the original decklist, not the ones following it). But here I go looking...

I was merely mentioning it because Darsh seems to expect his opponent to be holding a lot of cards (from his last post) and like kind of what I was saying and what Duel was saying, due to the discard there won't BE enough cards in hand to activate the Vises.

The way to win is through one of two methods:
Card Superiority
Card Advantage

Superiority is that every one of your card takes out more than one of theirs. It's a type of card advantage, but relies more on your cards being better than any 1 of theirs.

Advantage is the amount of cards accessible to you.

People think that it's all card-drawing/discard, it's not. Green stompy makes card advantage by having everything out of it's hand before you can do anything. It has more cards available to use.

Now, in this deck, Card Advantage (CA) nearly takes care of itself, so let's work on the Card superiority (CS).

My B/U Disruption
4 Accumulated knowledge (CA)
4 Recoil (CA)
2 Sleeper's robe (CA)
4 Fact or Fiction (CA)

3 Abyssal Spectre (CA and CS. a 2/3 is now considered fat. that's sad.)
3 Chilling Apparition
2 Vodalian Zombie
3 Distorting lens ("But russell", I hear you say, "It's only good with wash out." No, my little dorklings, it allows black creatures to DIE, and your zombie to survive. CS)
2 Disrupt (CA)
4 Counterspell (Undermine works. CS)
4 Snuff out (CS)
4 Wash out (CA)

lands to taste.

You have 14 cards which force your opponent to discard (15 w/ Mind Twist). If you can stomach it, Megrim would be brutal in here.

Fix your mana too, you should be heavier on the Black than the Blue, along with having Dark Rituals.

Rootwater Thief would work nicely in here also. Fits the theme and has evasion.

**Side note--Duel's comment on Distorting Lens:
Get as many copies of this card as you can. Its value will sky rocket once people realize how versatile it is in Invasion Type 2 w/ so many color specific cards. Test it out on Apprentice with a deck that can abuse it and see what I'm talking about. Oh yeah, it also works very well with Sleeper's Robe: fear will always work.
