Deck Idea needs help: Big and stupid for MP

Ah expensive spells, so tempting to play yet so difficult. Common Magic theory tells us that you shouldn't play anything over a 6-7 casting cost. Thankfully WOTC has been nice enough to make a few cards that allow a player to actually be able to get these effects to happen. What cards are those exactly? Dream Halls and Temporal Aperature. What makes me want to build this deck? Simple, Time Stretch: the new card from Odyssey that everyone is dying to cast.

So we know this deck can't win in a competitive environment, but maybe it can work in Multi-player. Also, since the deck can't win without a lot of help, lets play with as many broken cards as possible, and let it be BIG.

75 Cards!
The cheaters 5
4 Temporal Aperature
1 Dream Halls (restricted in type 1, doh)

The big boppers 10
2 Denying Wind
3 Time Stretch
3 Iridescent Angel (yeh good luck getting these Mike)
2 Tidal Kraken

Card Drawing & search 12
4 Opportunity
1 Ancestral Recall (hey broken cards make nearly every deck playable)
1 Time Spiral
1 Enlightened Tutor
1 Mystical
2 Soldevi Digger
2 Academy Rector

Others 14
4 Counters
4 Force of Will
4 Wrath of God
2 Teferi's Moat

Mana Acceleration 5
1 Sol Ring
4 Thran Dynamo

Lands 29
3 Thawing Glaciers
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Mox Sapphire
4 Tundra
14 Islands
6 Plains

Questions I have
What bombs am I missing?
What cheaters am I missing?
Does this look like annoying fun?
Isn't this thing stupid?

All suggestions appreciated.

Well, not sure what some of your "cheaters" or "big boppers" do offhand without spending the time to look them up :), but for a quick glance, I'd say Swords to Plowshares for defense? Unless your opponents like to sit back (mine don't, they're very aggressive).

From Crystalkeep.com
Dream Halls - Stronghold Rare (restricted in Type 1)
3UU - Enchantment
Rather than paying the mana cost for a nonartifact spell, its controller may discard a card that shares a color with that spell. If the spell has X in its mana cost, X is 0.

Temporal Aperature - Saga Rare
2 - Artifact
{5},{Tap}: Shuffle your library and reveal the top card. Until end of turn, as long as that card remains on top of your library, you may play the card as though it were in your hand without paying its mana cost. If the spell has X in its mana cost, X is 0.

Denying Wind - Propchecy Rare
7UU - Sorcery
Search target player's library for up to seven cards and remove them from the game. Then that player shuffles his or her library.

Time Stretch - Odyssey Rare
8UU - Sorcery
Target player takes two extra turns after this one.

Well my group definitely mor aggresive than passive, but the two formats I'd be playing this deck in are 2-Headed Giant and as an Emperor's deck where a strong defense isn't quite as necessary. This sucker would get housed in Chaos though. The biggest thing I have to worry about is ench/art destruction, hence the 4 Force of Will that I'd rather not have to run.

I need to include 4 Coastal Towers in here too, the deck is definitely slow enough to use them. My mana in general is lower than I'd like, I'd probably bump it up to 80 and add 5 more lands.

Another card I must find room for is Mirari, as there are so many juicy instants and sorceries in this deck to copy (and coincidentally needs as much mana as the Dynamos supply). I can copy my card drawing spells and give them to a teammate, copy a Time Stretch for me for 4 extra turns, I'd probably end up drop the Rector's as they aren't really any fun anyway.

Show and Tell! How did I forget that card? And I've got 3 of them sitting in my 'For Keeps' binder. Good call r00tg04t. Man, this deck is going to be a pig.

Unfortunately, I should try to keep this only 2 colors as the spells are very blue and white heavy. Plus a 3rd color makes Dream Halls harder to use.

Hey you could put Reya Dawnbringer in there. cast her by discarding Iridescent Angel and use Reya to bring the Iridescent into play. How is that for card economy.

Ahhh, Reya Dawnbringer. She would be fun, I would need more creatures though.

Keep in mind that this is a teammate deck

80 cards
New decklist
The cheaters 9
4 Temporal Aperature
1 Dream Halls (restricted in type 1, doh)
2 Show and Tell
2 Mirari (perfect for this deck)

The big boppers 10
2 Denying Wind
3 Time Stretch
3 Iridescent Angel
2 Tidal Kraken (I own 0 Morphlings, besides these guys are more fun)

Card Drawing & search 12
4 Opportunity (expensive but very efficient w/ 7 of my cheaters)
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Spiral
1 Enlightened Tutor
1 Mystical Tutor
2 Impulse
2 Soldevi Digger

Others 14
4 Counters
4 Force of Will
4 Wrath of God
2 Treachery (always useful, but can anyone think of something better? Maybe Dismantling Blow?)

Mana Acceleration 5
1 Sol Ring
4 Thran Dynamo

Lands 30
2 Thawing Glaciers (gets my Soldevi Items shuffled around quickly)
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Pearl
4 Tundra
4 Coastal Tower
13 Islands
4 Plains

I posted a ruling question in the other forum and found out Mirari can copy both the Dream Halls and Temporal Aperature abilities. So it can copy Time Stretch and Opportunity and direct them to my teammate, along with doing other annoying things like copy tutors, Show and Tell, and counterspells

Cards left to get:
2 Angels
2 Krakens
3 Temporal Aperature
1 Time Stretch
1 Tundra
If anyone has any of these up for trade let me know

I would definitely keep the Treacheries because in MP, there are likely to be many juicy targets to steal and also they will help you both defend against a troublesome creature and keep your mana open for countering and Mirari.

I also think that in MP, Dismantling Blow would be a great option as it would allow you to get more cards and you would likely be able to find a good target. I'm just not sure what you could take out. Since you already have a lot of card-drawing and the Blow would add more drawing, the Tutors might just be the only expendable cards I can think of.

That's all I have to say for now.

Mikeymike -

When did you get an Ancestral Recall?! Lucky dog... er... human.

Anyhow, a Ring of Ma'ruf might be ideal, providing you can find one.

And when all else fails, Balance.

Yeah Steve I'm having the same problem, I think maybe the Show and Tell's as I'm afraid to see what everyone else drops, but they are so much fun. I guess I could take the Tutors out, or maybe even the Denying Wind. I've played with the D.W. before and its never been a card to go over well with the group.

Krichaiushii, nice to see you back on the boards. The Ancestral? I cheated and bought a set of Collector's Edition, I have officially sold my Magic soul ;). I don't play with the Lotus though, I'd feel slightly too guilty (but I'm obviously not above playing with the best card ever, hehe). Balance huh, hmmmm....gears in head turning, more broken cards....must include.
I've never seen Ring of Ma'ruf before (just checked it out on crystalkeep), that might possibly be the coolest card I've ever read. That would be sweet in here.

TJ, I did see your trade list but I've already got my Sungrass Prairies in a deck, sorry :(.

I finally built this thing and to my surprise it actually worked surprisingly well. It went 2-0 on its first night and was an absolute blast to play. I didn't get every card for the deck yet but here is what I ended up building.

80 cards
New decklist
The cheaters 7
4 Temporal Aperature
1 Dream Halls (restricted in type 1, doh)
2 Mirari (MVP of the deck)

The big boppers 8
2 Denying Wind
2 Time Stretch
2 Iridescent Angel
2 Tidal Kraken (I own 0 Morphlings, besides these guys are more fun)

Card Drawing & search 10
4 Opportunity (expensive but very efficient w/ 7 of my cheaters)
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk
2 Planar Portal
2 Soldevi Digger

Others 20
4 Counters
3 Force of Will
4 Wrath of God
1 Balance
3 Dismantling Blow
2 Treachery
1 Confiscate
1 Hanna's Custody
1 Zuran Orb

Mana Acceleration 6
1 Sol Ring
4 Thran Dynamo
1 Grim Monolith

Lands 29
1 Thawing Glaciers
2 Maze of ShIth
1 Strip Mine
1 Wasteland
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Pearl
3 Tundra
4 Coastal Tower
9 Islands
5 Plains

The amazing thing was, both games it played in it drew neither the Dream Halls or the Temporal Aperature, but it got so much artifact mana and card advantage it didn't matter. I'm really considering cutting all 5 all together believe it or not.

Thanks to Mirari my teammates loved it too. In 2 games I Miraried 1 Time Walk, 1 Ancestral, 1 Counterspell, 2 Opportunities, 2 Time Stretch, 1 Dismantling Blow and 1 Denying Wind.

It gets infinite turns too which I didn't realize until the other night. With a lot of mana (the deck has time and card drawing on its side), Planar Portal, Soldevi Digger, and a Time Stretch it keeps going and going until its gets an unblockable creature out.

What I want for it:
1 Time Stretch (which I got tonight)
1 Iridescent Angel
1 Tundra
1 Mirari
More mana acceleration (any ideas?)

I'm going to cut the Denying Wind b/c they are too mean.
