Death of Guru

Hey I just got something in the mail from WotC telling me that the Guru program has been discontinued. They said it was largely due to the fact that this summer WotC will be launching the Magic: The Gathering Academy. (?)

Anyone else get something like this? Anyone know what the Academy thing is? Interesting, anyway.

Oh yeah, they stuck a Guru Island and Plains in the envelope too. I thought that was pretty sweet.

There was a slight discussion last month about the discontinuing of the Guru program, but nothing was said about the Academy program (I believe).

I recieved my letter in the mail today too...And thank GOD I got my Guru Swamp!...Also a mountain which is pretty nice...I just don't have the forest...Oh well, I'm not fond of green anyway......

Got my letter in the mail too...along with a Forest and a Plains I wasn't expecting, leaving me with a spare Guru Plains. O.O Coolness.

Anyone know what the Guru lands are going for nowadays? I can't find a price list anywhere online. It's not like I plan to let the suckers go, I just want to know what they're worth. I also can't find a price for a foil Karn.

I saw a complete set of the Guru lands going for $66 on eBay yesterday, and $10.50 for just the Forest.

Me, I'd like to trade my spare Guru Plains for a Guru Mountain or Guru Swamp. Then I'd get whichever I didn't have, and have a full set of Guru lands.
