Anyone else planning on attending?

I of course will be there, as always(hopefully not 3 hours late like last time, but hey can't complain about what I pulled).

This set seems to be shaping up to very pretty interesting in Limited, and I've already had a good amount of experience with Mirrodin Limited, so I'm looking forward to it.

If you attend Spidey, I'll be looking for you(as always) perhaps we can arrange something. Zadok said he'd be in Baltimore by the time of the prerelase, and said he'd try to attend, but who knows.

But there was a couple of card shops in Lake Geneva (birthplace of D & D) that might be doing it, or should at least have an idea where to look.

Good luck! :D

grafton is 20 miles north of Milwaukee....

we neighbor Cedarburg, Port Washington, and Mequon (if you know the area at all, one of those might stick out)

Sorry, I won't be able to make it this year. Made other plans before I knew what weekend it was... :(

Hopefully I'll be able to do 5th Dawn.

I'd like to play in this prerelease, as it seems like a ton of fun. Hopefully I'll find a shop with unsanctioned side events or something. Failing that, I'll give up trying to go to trade. Past preleases have shown that people are total a-holes when it comes to trading at pre-releases. You may as well offer to trade folks for their vital organs, because the likelyhood of trading a foil Broodstar for a healthy set of kidneys is higher than trading said Broodstar for a pile of ten junk commons.

Geez...

Just checked MTGNews and they still don't have a full spoiler. Wizards is getting better at stopping leaks.

I know I am, and I am quite crunk because it is my first Prerelease (not counting the 8th ed thing).

Any tips, and after saturday, stories?

stick to a 40 card deck, around 17 lands(although I've heard from my friend who plays limited quite a bit that even with 16 lands he still gets flooded, but this should change with darksteel)

creatures with evasion are always good, and don't over look myr enforcer or fangreen hunter(4/4s are massive by mirrodin standards)

removal is key(strangely enough in Mirrodin green has become the removal color)

I always forget the number of creatures that they "reccomend you play" I think its around 13-15.

Above all, have fun. Prereleases are extremely casual tournament events, and there is often a good amount of trading and buying available.

Hopefully there will be a full compiled spoiler after the prerelease. Though it would help to be able to know what cards were all in the set a little earlier.

My bro was gonna go, and I was gonna tag along as a trader, but then we found out the special foil was the Shield of Kaldra.

Bleh...not worth the trip.

Very sad. Since Legions, there hasn't been a great foil reason to go (even the Sword in Mirrodin was a lame-o card for a prerelease foil).

Part of me agrees, but another part (the part that doesn't actually read the spoiler) thinks it would be cool if everyone went in blind, like the good 'ol days :)

So how'd everyone do? Az?

unfortunately no giant money rare pulled at this prerelease. My Mirrodin Rares were God awful, I don't even remember them. My Darksteel rares were ok. I pulled an Arcbound Ravager(I love this guy, I didn't think I'd like him that much, but I might just build an arcbound deck in order to use it), a furnace dragon(bleh), and a pulse of the dross, which is cool.

The deck that I built was really good, extremely aggressive with a good amount of removal. Had I won one more game I would've gotten 6 packs. unfortunately 2 games of mana difficulties nudged me out of the prizes.
