Cugel: You can't just "pour" oil on the guy - you're gonna have to throw your flask at him and hope for a hit so it breaks and the oil spreads on him.

Si'Nat: Your infravision is messed up by the torches - all you can see is that the fireplace is not lit, nor is there anything in it.

Rondo: Kurik can most likely hurl the oil - he can't really hand it to you as he's on the other side of the man and the table is in the way.

Continuing the round...

Cugel throws his flask but misses and flies past to Kurik's area. The flask breaks open when it hits the ground behind the man (and near Kurik).

Kurik throws his flask on the ground at the man's feet. It breaks open and forms a pool in which the man is now standing.

Rondo takes the opportunity and lights the pool with his torch. Whooosh! The man becomes a flaming candlestick. He still doesn't make any sound but turns around to Kurik as Si'Nat moves away out of melee range.

Bertrem wisely decides not to get near the flames and aborts his trip attack. :)

Round 5 - Party gets initiative.

What else you guys wanna do?

Si'Nat chucks a chair but misses.

Bertrem and Cugel stand there, watching, while Rondo keeps the man at bay with his torch.

Kurik backs away on the other side and circles back around to re-join you guys, getting a torch of his own.

The man makes a last grab at him as Kurik moves away but misses.

Round 6 - Party gets initiative.

The man continues to burn, although he seems naturally resistant to it. Si'Nat chucks another chair but misses. The rest of the party watches.

The man turns back to Rondo and touches him for just a sec. Rondo gasps and drops the torch.

Round 7 - Party gets initiative.

(Do chairs count as missile fire?...)

Continue with them...

(Since it is in view of everyone, and I've been closer ot it now - how big is the table? My next move after this chair is to use the short end of the table to push him into a corner - that would leave the long ende between us, and maintain much distance...)

"Don't want to sit huh... I insist!..."

(hurls the next chair...)

(Well - a group of us could do it, and seems if we stay on the other side of the table, he wouldn't be bothering us...)

Well, all that happens in this round is that the man burns and Si'Nat chucks a third chair, this time hitting him and causing him to slip and fall. He spends his turn getting up. Rondo moves out of melee range though.

Round 8 - Man gets initiative.

He steps out of the pool of oil and heads towards you. You guys circle around the other side of the table, keeping it between you guys? Is that the plan?

(yep - I say we use it to corner him - pushing him into the wall with it, etc...)

"C'mon guys - let's help this man get a little more toasty!..."

"Somebody grab the torch, dammit! Tha thing don't like the fire!!!"

Rondo's feeling very weak, and his wounds seem worse than they were.

"He's on fire... we just need to corner him and keep him lit... I guess someone could grab another torch once we stay situated in what is going on"

(Si'Nat can be seen glancing at other parts of the room, keeping and eye on what is going on so there are no surprises...)

He's actually not on fire anymore; he was burning before because he was in a pool of burning oil, which he got out of last round.

You guys circle around the table so you're basically on the north side of it and he's on the south side. Kurik, having another flask of oil handy, throws it and hits the man, breaking the flask and splattering it all over him. Bertrem lights THAT up with the torch and WOOOOOSH! The man ignites and burns "to a crisp"; he collapses and stops moving.
