"Do I look like a Guard Captain to you? I'm trying to solve a more important problem of getting rid of the red glow! You have problems with the guards, take it up with their captain.

And for the last time, get off me!"

"As a fellow mage, what have you discovered so far about the red glow?"

 

[Spiderman]

"I'm not saying a damn thing more until these idiots get off me!"

 

[Oversoul]

*tightens his grip*

"He claims we rudely interrupted him. But seems rather anxious about being unhanded, while also having suspiciously gone untouched while the rest of the castle has been filled with monsters and miscreants, its people turned to stone and its perimeter lined with an enigmatic red glow. Perhaps we did interrupt this man, but perhaps he is the mastermind behind this entire affair. I suggest we do not aquiesce."

"Does that mean you would like him to be no more?... I can certainly oblige... Besides, the protectors told us the castle would have to be rid of the evil in order to save everything... The evil wouldn't be just the glow... and that is all this guy said he was trying to get rid of... I'm going to shoot him unless someone objects..."

"Well I'm fer easin up on th' man an seein whether he kin help us out a bit 'ere, an' tell us stuff we don't already know...Ye kin always shoot 'im full o' holes if'n he tries to cast a spell or somthin, ye trigger happy elf!" Rondo manages to say while still wrestling with the man. "Anybody got any rope t' tie his hands up with, so he can't be casting spells at us if'n we let go?"

um, i know little of the undisciplined Arcane Arts, but do you have to have the gestures to make the magic work?

Every magick I know requires both Verbal and Somatic (gesturing). My old master warned me never to lose a limb or my casting days would be over, so I have to think they all require gesturing.

"I can release the arrow if you guys like..."

(just kind of mentioning this since I can't make the decision to let the guy go...)

Patrick....

Umm... No thank you on the arrow release... If we bind his hands, he won't be able to cast any spells.

(I guess I will bind him as the other hold him...)

"Okay guys, binding, but when I'm done let me get the bow ready before letting him go..."

(binding now)

All of this takes a turn, but his hands are bound.

He scoffs.

"Ha, if you had just ASKED me, I would have given my word as a man of honor that I wouldn't cast any spells."

"So why is it all these other things are going on in the palace, and you haven't been affected by them? Exactly what have you done to break the aura, that didn't work?"

 

[Spiderman]

"As I can see that I am bound and not a free man, I'm not telling you a thing.

As a matter of fact, I find it hard to believe that the Protectors would even deal with such people like you. They tend to go for the um, heroic type."

 

[Oversoul]

"Perhaps they were desperate."

 

[Spiderman]

The man deems that not worthy of a reply.

"Okay, you stay bound, and I shoot your foot... I either hear answers to questions I asked, and not general responses, or the arrows start to fly..."

"Either you let me go and the Princess might let you leave despite manhandling a member of the royal household, or you get the pleasant experience of kissing the Iron Maiden or getting stretched on the rack. Your choice."

Princess? Well, well, now we are getting somewhere. Where exactly can this princess be found?
