What is so cool about the guy, he is so into his job. I haven't seen many people like him, the enthusiasm...

When it comes to work, most people act like robots, and show as much emotion as a statue.

He was amusing to me when he first got on (or when I first saw him) and he is enthusiastic, no doubt about it, but not much of a nature/creature type watcher so I stopped watching him after a couple of episodes.

I think it's plain funny how dangerously close he gets to some animals...

On a few of the diaries now - they show a lot of older footage... it's neat to see him get bit, and stung, and everything... and he just keeps talking to the camera the whole time...

"I think the camera is his tie to reality..."

Well, you get close, of course something's going to happen eventually. Wasn't there some "special" show where it just showed clips of accidents like that?

But he's a nature guy, he's supposed to get close to the animals... just like that Jack Hanna? guy...

Yeah... and I missed it...

The diaries show a lot of footage from when he was a child and teenager... very amateur filming... that's what's neat about it...

Haven't heard of Jack hanna - unless he's the red-haired/bearded guy... I do know who Jeff Corwin is though...

Jack Hanna is a fairly old guy (probably in his 50's or 60's now) who pretty much did what Irwin's doing now... went around and talked about different animals and stuff and got up close with them.
