CPA Renaissance?

1 month ago, Mrs. Ferret (the better half of our furry friend) started this thread which spawned a ton of discussion regarding the seeming "Fade to Black" of the CPA.

It might be my imagination, but the CPA seems like it has been running on all cylinders ever since.

What I've noticed:
- Ed's redesign, which stemmed a few comments like "hmm, reminds me of home".
- Newer posters making immediate and voluminous impacts in the forums and on the front page.
- Veteran posters greatly increase their activity from may 1-2 posts a week to 1-2 (or more) posts a day.
- Ancient posters making appearances for the first times in ages.
- Tons of great discussion and input in the deck forum.
- Tons of great debate in this forum.
- The Front page getting back up to speed with some hi-quality pieces.

Maybe it was that original discussion forced people to take heed of the message, or it was coincidence, or some unseen force. Whatever it is, I couldn't be more thrilled. Great job everyone.

I think activity generates activity. The more people get involved on the boards, the more interesting the boards become. It also works the other way around, but I'm glad the CPA stopped that :)

I agree with jorael, as I have felt a resurgence in myself to visit this site more frequently. I'd have posted several times in the past month, but I find that people had already brought up the points I've wanted to make.

I think it's mainly the new posters: jorael, Limited, CO, and Crackdown that have stimulated discussion here. Ed's redesign (or rather, upgrading) was just coincidence. But it's the new posters that has driven deck and Magic discussions and have contributed to the front page.

I'm not sure what's the reason, but I'm sure Mrs. F will be happy to hear that her post might have had something to do with it.

I'm really grateful for the new writers. They've really inspired more activity and their work is fun to read. It's actually inspired me to do a little writing of my own (Stay tuned, kids!).

Ed's redesign was also a refreshing change (although, I still want my Orange & Black back!)

It doesn't matter to me why it's doing so well, I'm just glad it does and I look forward to it continuing!

cute, but I fear change.

As long as we're getting people to come into the ranks and older players mingling with the newer, we'll be good. This little revival (ha ha, renaissance...) will just spurr us on.

But, in the famous words of Captain James Tiberious Kirk "I need more power!" is what the organization is tryig to speak out. Lets us get ourself some tournaments going or something to make even more people want to come in.

I give a bit of credit to the Quick Reply system, myself.

It makes things just so much easier. The board not eating my cookies helps a large amount, too.

I've pointed a few people this direction on Magic Online, but sadly, I think none have ventured forth.
