Comic Strip Styles

I only saw two strips and they seemed good. The magician school theme seemed "gamer" enough though not "Magic" enough.

That brought up an idea: Right when I first started writing here the top post I remember seeing was something like "We aren't getting posts. If this continues, we'll have to ask for articles about any game, not just Magic."

...Any reason why the site can't go to gaming in general, and not just Magic? Probably a silly idea anyway, but what the heck, worth asking.

And if this place were to become a general gaming (since "Casual Players Alliance" says nothing about Magic, despite being founded as a Magic site) site then would it be possible to include stuff like Apollo's comic?

That it's possible to include stuff like Apollo's comic without declaring it a sign of a total format change for the entire site.

SeFRo: In answer to your question, when the idea of changing the site to cover all games was first proposed, a small group raised an outcry mostly based (I think) that the site needed to keep specialized in one genre; namely, the one it started in, Magic. Articles were promised, more posts about Magic were promised, etc.

My personal opinion is that the Magic talk has raised somewhat, but not really due to those individuals. PJ has been most instrumental on the General forum by bringing over the voting stuff for 8th, and Mikeymike has been most active in Decks (with help from other people like yourself and NorrYtt and others; those names just jump out at me right now). I still think we can move towards general gaming overall, but my position still stays as it was before: I don't care either way and will support the current direction, whatever it is (which happens to be Magic right now).

As such, and though I hate to say it, since one of our submission guidelines is that articles or front page stuff has to deal some way with Magic, Apollo's comics would have to meet that criteria. That's my opinion though and since Chaos Turtle is now the editor, it could be up to his discretion. :)

Okay, was wondering about that ever since I saw it back then.

Hey Apollo, maybe you might feel like expanding and doing a Magic comic someday? ;)

No pressures, though. I'm on sort of a comic kick lately. With Linneman's "Clash & Burn," my own "Fast Effect," our joint effort "2 Man Draft" and the discovery of the orphaned "Crap Rares" by Justin Stewart, its cool seeing so many Magic comics.

The legacy left by The Magic Fishbowl is not dead! :D

SeFro: a magic comic might be fun. I'm not sure I play enough anymore to get the ideas for it, though. It would probably just peter out pretty quick. And I'm kinda attached to the characters I have going (especially Snowy).

Perhaps I could include something in my comic that, instead of just training to be wizards, they're training to be M:tg-style wizards. Just with occassional references. It might work, and still leave the material understandable for others.
