You have chosen "A"...follow the rat into the darkness.
When last we left our hero you had just escaped from your cell and had heared the talking rat's tale. He explaind that he was once a wizard called Rastus, and had come to these haunted halls seeking adventure, knowlage and treasure. Unfortunetly for him, he discovered taht this tomb is haunted my some kind of powerful and evil entity. That being transformed him into a rat and cursed him to forever walk these passage ways.
After Rastus finished his story, you heard the goblins returning, and followed the rat deeper into the catacombs...
You run after the rat and into the darkened halls. Soon, you are out of the torch-light of the goblin's station and completely in shadow. Having no idea where to go, you stop and crouch next to the wall. Looking back down the hall from where you came, you see the goblins descend the stairs and walk to the guard-station alcove. There are four of them, and one is much larger and older looking then the others. This one sports armour and has a huge axe slung on his back. He's almost twice the height of the others.
"Gorbo!" call one of the smaller goblins. "Gorbo you lazy fool, where are you?"
"Psst!" Looking down at your feet, you can barely make out the rat that led you here. He whispers, "This hall leads into the crypts. I do not think there is any other path to choose from. Either we go deeper, or we face the goblins."
Looking once more down the hall, you see the goblins franticly searching for Gorbo. They toss great hand-fulls of trash and sacks and boxes from the alcove into the hall.
"Gorbo you troll's arse!" screems the biggest goblin, "You'd best be dead, 'cause when I get 'hold of ya, I'll kill ya me-self!"
You then see one of the smaller goblins peeking into the cells
"Uh....boss? I tink I finded Gorbo" says the goblin guard, standing on his tip-toes and peering into the middle cell. "And he don't look too good."
The large goblin throws the smaller one out of his way and looks in. "Bloody 'ell." He turns back around and faces the other three goblins, who are now huddled together. "Dis is why I tell ya to be smart and not a stupid Gorbo! Dis is why I tell ya ta listen to me! "
The large goblin pauses and then looks down the hall...he seems to be staring right at you! "We was upstairs, so dis son of a hag could'a only gone one way. Go 'en get da dogs...we's goin' huntin'."
"Oh dear" says Rastus "May I sugest we continue on lickaty split. Goblins can't see in the dark, but they can sniff us out with no trouble. Beter then the dogs they'll be bringing with them. We should make some distance between us."
Casting a Darkvission spell on your self, you can now make out your suroundings.
The hall you ran down has opened up into a huge chamber. There are three other halls leading off from this one, one on each wall. In the center of the chamber is a large sarcophagus surounded by four, ornate torch sconces...all unlit ofcourse.
Making your way around the room, you peer down each hallway. The west one leads to a set of stairs that leads down. The north one goes on straight as far as you can see, and each side of it is filled with shelf upon shelf of urns. The east hall contains a set of stairs leading up, and you can sense the slightest bit of fresh air. And, the south hall is the way by which you entered this chamber.
Rastus scurries up to you. "Well, I must say I never went this far into these dungeons. What action do you sugest?"
