You have decided to try your luck with the lever and then go left.

The lever is rusty and sticks, but after a few good tugs, you manage to pull it into the "down" position.

When you do, you hear a clinking, rythmic, metal sound, but it seems to be far away. It ceases after a few seconds, and all is quiet again.

You then turn left, towards the strange green glow, and procede down the hall.

The feel of the air grows colder and wetter the farther you go down the left hallway.

Soon, the hall opens up into a round room. It is about 40 feet across and tiled in blue and white. In the center of the room is a fountain. It is around 6 feet in diamater and topped with a statue of a boy with a bow and arrow in hand. Although the fountain is no longer functioning, you can see that it is the water in the pool of the fountain bellow the statue that is giving off the strange glow. There does not seem to be any other exit from this room, or any other feature.

Suddenly, the green glowing water seems to form a snake-like mass and lashes out at you. It then forms into a serpentine shape, with the bulk of it's form still in the pool of the fountain. The strange water splashes out onto the floor all around you as the water serpent grows and strikes at you...

I say C, lightning spell. Because if it was made of water... fire and da sword won't do a whole heck of a lot.

I always thought of water as a conductor what harm would that do? I choose fire bolt hopefully turn the creature into steam.

I say reason with it. Talk never hurts :)

And I didn't know we were spellcasters. What surprises...

In Part 1 I said that "you did not listen to the advice of your wizard master"...

...but I figured for everyone's enjoyment and for the most variety, that this "characer" would be a sort of adventurer-of-all-trades type of guy/gal.

You'll find out...but not much for now. Perhaps you'll find some scrolls or an ancient spell book? Hmm?

... you can't shock something that doesn't conduct electricity.

I say, zap the bugger! It might not fry him but it would probably (at least) shock him enough to stop his attacking. It is a lightning bolt, after all. Not your household current.

As a phoenix myself, the fire spell seems quite natural. I'll go for that.

And Sage is right; lightning would not be a Good Thing(tm).

Mommmmmeeeeee!

Just kidding...

Lemme get this straight - you want us to attempt to reason with a snake made out of water?

Huh...

Alright - why not? I've done stranger things playing D&D. I'd say keep the sword handy though, in case it doesn't speak English...;)

Hey, from its perspective, we just invaded its home turf and its merely trying to defend it. And who knows, maybe it IS intelligent... :p

Hmmmm, What harm could water do anyway. I say drink him. Thata show him who's boss.

But seriously, I'm hoping the fire is intence enough to evaporate it, or kill it. Afterall, it just looks like water, so it could be a not to viscus blob.
