You have chosen "D"....demand to know the story behind the rat.

When last we left off, you charmed Gorbo and managed to lock him into your own cell. Soon after, the strange talking rat, who aparantly is not a figmant of your tortured mind, summoned an entire rodent swarm which fell upon the poor goblin and devoured him alive.

After seeing this display, you have decided to get the low-down on this semmingly magical, intelegent vermin...

"Well dear sir, that is an interesting story indeed. Once, many years ago...before you were even born I imagine, I was a powerful sorcerer called Rastus De'Grie. I came to the musty halls of this tomb in search of treasures and the knowlage of the ancients. My comrads in the coven warned me agaisnt it, and filled me with stories and warnings of an evil and threatening pressence here. But, alas! I was head-strong and young, and not as wise as I thought. Not as powerful either, for mere momnets after crossing the threshold I was set upon by an unseen foe. After battering me about like a limp rag doll, I heared a voice whisper 'fool...you wish to be here in my home...I shall make you a permanant resident.' Then, with a hiss and a crackle, I was transmorgrified into this shape. Luckily, I retained some of my magical powers and my inteligence as well. I scurried into the darkness, unable to go back out of this place due to the evil one's curse, and I made my home amoung the other rats.

"Many long and dank years have passed since that day, and the evil that resides here has withdrawn deeper into the halls of this place. Goblins have moved in from the forest and made it thier abode. I have seen many young and foolish adventures come here to die. But...you have thus far lived, and I think that is a good sign. If the evil one is destroyed, then this spell over me will be broken, and I will regain my former shaped and be able to leave. Although I know that all my friends and loved ones are long dead, it would be nice to feel the sun upon my face again, and the breeze through my whiskers...ahem...I mean my beard. Perhaps we can help each other. You are traped here as well. I will elp you to defeat the evil forces that hold us here...help as best I can."

Suddenly, the rat perks up and eyes the passage way that leads to the stairs.

"The goblins return!" he hisses, and he takes off down the hall that leads into darkness.

"Hurry you fool! Follow me!"

You can now here the rough voices of the goblins, and make out thier foot falls on the stairs, growing closer...

I say follow the rat.

I don't know what spells I have, I think they're too close to try to search now, hiding will just trap me, and there's probably too many to muscle through.

And I'm not beggin'! :)

Should I list some spells that our character can use, and then when a situation calls for (or may call for) a spell, you all can discuss which one?

Also, the more you all actually talk about what to do, the more I know to base the next steps on.

I say follow the rat and think a list of possible spells would make some choices easier

If the rat was actually evil and lying to us, he wouldn't tell us that there was evil in the place. So I buy his story. It seems like he has a lot to gain by keeping us alive and escaping, and nothing to gain by screwing us. So I say follow the thing, for now. Once we get out of here, though, I'd watch out for him.

Little late on the draw there, Apollo. We've moved on to Part 13.
