I know what you're thinking.. ok this person thinks they're SO original with a twincasted' glimpse..

but its better..

I was thinking of a deck that for turn 1-3 threw down defensive walls, and then just used any one of 20 cards to kill them..

it occured to me exactly how broken these transmute "xmute" cards are..
and you could potentially blend a couple t1 decks with several restricted cards that could give you wins the next turn.

Dizzy Spell (xmute 1cc)
Muddle the Mixture (xmute 2cc)
Dimir infiltrator (xmute 2cc)
Shred Memory (xmute 2cc)
Perplex (xmute 3cc)
Dimir Machinations (xmute 3cc)
Drift of Phantasms (xmute 3cc)
Clutch of the Under (xmute 4cc)
Dimir House Guard (xmute 4cc)
Brainspoil (xmute 5cc)

1cc: crop rotation, beserk, tutors, dark ritual, black vise,
bonesplitter, pithing needle, ivory tower, sol ring, mana vault,
voltaic key, phyrexian dreadnaught
2cc: timewalk, disenchant, terror, counterspell, echoing ruin, drain life,
manriki-gusari, grim monolith, power artifact, altar of dementia,
cranial plating, cursed totem, defense grid, illusionary mask, powder keg
time vault, myr retriever, arcbound ravager
3cc: Necroplasm (for token death/affinity), psychatog
tinker, fabricate, windfall, megrim, necropotence, ensnaring bridge,
metalworker, force field, spellbinder, tanglewire, trinisphere, underworld
dreams, intruder alarm, intuition, meditate, propaganda
4cc: green beacon, krak clan ironworks, masticore, nevinyrrals disk
summoner's egg, teferi's puzzle box
5cc: time warp, time spiral, lifeline, traumatize, haunting echoes, hatred

to name a few.. it just allows for you to search for anything you could possibly need to complete a combo.. or alter the playing field and only having to wait 1 turn..

i was considering running a deck that abuses both glimpse/twincast, megrim/memory jar/tinker, the timewalk+isochron scepter combo, and walls for early defense with a little bit of bounce..

1cc:
1 ivory tower
1 pithing needle
3 steel wall
3 will of the wisp

2cc:
1 ancestral recall
1 time walk
1 defense grid
1 cursed totem
1 Power artifact
1 Grim Monolith

3 mana leak
3 echoing truth
3 fog bank
3 isochron scepter
4 Glimpse of the Unthinkable
4 Twincast
4 Dimir Infiltrator (2cc xmute) 1UB
2 Shred Memory (2cc xmute) 1BB
2 Muddle the Mixture (2cc xmute) 1UU

3cc:
1 fabricate
1 necroplasm
1 Megrim
1 Tinker
1 windfall
3 Perplex (xmute 3cc) 1UB
3 Dimir Machinations (xmute 3cc) 1BB

53 cards---

a simpler, more extended version would be

1cc:
3 steel wall
3 will of the wisp

2cc:
1 defense grid
1 powder keg

3 mana leak
3 echoing truth
2 isochron scepter
4 Glimpse of the Unthinkable
4 Twincast
4 Dimir Infiltrator (2cc xmute) 1UB
4 Shred Memory (2cc xmute) 1BB
3 Muddle the Mixture (2cc xmute) 1UU

3cc:
1 necroplasm
2 Perplex (xmute 3cc) 1UB

allowing for 22 lands, while still being able to do:

glimpse+scepter
twincast+glimpse
(power artifact+monolith if manadump added;whetstone)

ideal would be:
turn 1: swamp, will o wisp
turn 2: island, keg/ isochron+glimpse
turn 3: xmute infiltrator/memory/muddle
turn 4: glimpse on wand/ infinite mana with monolith

i think eventually i'd try to make this a turn 1-2 killer as a type 1 deck using all the best of the best.. maybe a couple moxen and a lotus.

any thoughts?

Cruel idea there. Yeah, Rav is fun, but you kinda notice it leaves a lot to be desired in the "inspire me to make a new deck idea" department. I find it surprising the most fun new inspiration is in really boosting the power of oldschool mill decks.

Well, Twincast/Mana Leak/Echoing Truth on isocron scepter is very strong. They won't draw again if they play a spell when you put Mana Leak on the scepter. Echoing Truth isn't bad, but I'm a big fan of boomerange because you can hit their land as well.

Well, how does it play? I'm not playing B/U right now...and probably won't. But my friend's B/U Circu-inspired deck's pretty nasty at times. Very nice looking cards hit the table...lots of golden borders :)

Sorry, I was thinking Memory Lapse  ...my fault.

But with Mana Leak, I would especially want to control their land somehow.

Is parallax tide doable in your mana curve? I think it could be and it can really shut down the competition. I still like the boomerang action...just mean!
