No, it was liberal lawmakers he called girly-men. It was joking, just not in a way that the subjects of which found all that amusing.

His comment was due to the fact that they were dragging their feet with legislation trying to tack on amendments for special interests lobbying groups.

Then in an attempt to spin they call Arnold a homophobe and decry he insulted homosexuals. This obvious passive aggression is sickening.

Heh, well I find it amusing...

I found it quite funny myself.

    Homophobic? Sexist?

No! As much of a pet rock as this governator is, he just happened to have made a crappy joke. However, it was perfect for a sketch comedy like SNL or Mad TV. Amusingly enough, he did it in real life.

As a side note...I heard it was SNL, in teasting Arnold years back, who made up "girlie men" and only now has Arnold actually said "girlie men."

You heard correctly. That's specifically where he got it...from. (Argh! Curse that preposition!)
  10. Oversoul The Tentacled One

That makes it even better... :)

What's so bad about that preposition? :(

    You've got it backwards, SeFro...

Your prepositions are not dangling. :p

(And we should stop spamming the thread ;))
  14. Notepad Seffy Sefro

    It? From? Nee......?

Sorry, I thought you were a Knight of Nee, but I forgot what word was your weakness. I'll be sure to keep a notebook on hand next time so it doesn't look like a spam attack, and just a directed word weakness attack. ;)

Quit being such a girlie man!
  15. Oversoul The Tentacled One

Wait. Just so we're clear on this...

    What constitutes a dangling preposition?

I remember dangling participles, but dangling prepositions escape my memory...

    Stupid English language... :p

It wouldn't really be referred to as a "dangling preposition."

But it's considered gramattically incorrect to end a sentence with a preposition. It's a stupid rule for modern Englinsh, as it can be very difficult to construct some sentences without preps at the end without sounding clunky.
