Cabal Patriarch is a pretty good card. Now that Torment has made the mono-black archetype, is it possible this guy could see play?

I'd say Laquatus's Champion, if avaible would take his place.

Being a Lava Axe has big advantages, as well as not being legendary.

It seems to me that the Patriarch and Champion would be slots for two different decks. Champion being for speed or tempo-control, and the patriarch for pure control. And.....the patriarch can kill the champion....

I want to find a use for this card.

Also, a question: Is he better than Phyrexian Plaugelord?

That card may be good in a braids token deck. of course your not going to have creatures in your graveyard from tokens. Just an idea.?
