Anyone ever watch this movie? It's an old Paramont picture starring Audrey Hepburn and Geroge Pepard (The "A" Team leader).

Synopsis: She's a self described "Wild Thing" (but poor) living in NYC as a socialite trying to catch the richest men in town. He's a struggling writer who moves into the apartment next door to "Holly" (Hepburn). She's flamboyant and uses everyone around her including "Fred" (Pepard) whose name in the picture is really Paul but she told him that he reminds her of her brother in the Army whose name is Fred.

All the while she's using him he, of course, falls in love with her but is deeply ticked that all she talks about are rich men and how she'll ensnare them AND their riches.

[side note: Mickey Rooney plays a terribly stereotypical Japanese person who lives above Holly and is always complaining about her making noise and waking him up. At first I was a little taken back by Rooney's role but then quickly realized that during THAT time period (circa early 60's) that that was an acceptable notion about Japanese. I mean big buck teeth and all, very Jerry Lewis like :( .]

In the end he makes her realize that even though she's trying to avoid being caged up by having real relationships that she already HAS made a cage for herself and keeps confronting it no matter where she goes and/or who she ensnares.

It's a classic to say the least. My wife and I enjoyed it.

I give it 2 Morphlings up!

btw, Audrey Hepburn was H-O-T back in her day.

Morphlings?

Anyway, this is also the title of a song, which uses the word "I" an unusual number of times...

I think I'll go listen to it right now!

I believe audrey hepburn was recently voted the most beautiful lady of the century recently by a panel of industry professionals. But then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Holy crap! That was Mickey Rooney? I shuld pay more attention to the credits. (I thought he was Chinese, tho.)

I thought the movie was charming. I caught it on TCM (or was it AMC?) awhile back when I was enjoying one of my insomniac episodes.

Im not sure if I should be offended for your mistaking him to be Asian and Chinese for that matter or if make up artists back then were really that good.

Hehe. No, no. I knew the actor wasn't Asian. I just didn't know it was Mickey Rooney. I meant that I thought the character was Chinese, not Japanese.
