Boomstick Challenge

In another thread I've said I never have seen Alladin's Ring used. I play casual a lot.

I want to see it used in casual games. Not as a "can you even do it" but as a "I really want to see it be used because it would be cool."

So, I issue a challenge: Play me on MTGO. Use that Alladin's Ring on me. Or, better yet, team up with me in Two Headed Giant and use it against our enemies.

Anybody up for it?

I had a W/R Angel Dragon deck that looked like

4 Serra Angel
4 Shivan Hellkite
4 Mana Flare
4 Spirit Link
4 Orim's Thunder
4 Fireball
4 Jayemdae Tome
1 Aladdin's Ring

Shivan Hellkite + Spirit Link + Mana Flare is very amusing. Anyway, Aladdin's Ring was quite a wrecking ball in that deck.

Well, looks like since nobody's really on MTGO I can't look forward to the challenge. I may have to just trade for one and use it myself, but I dont have the mana boosters to make it work.

I am just about to change ISP's and I am going to wait until after I get on the new one before getting into MTGO. I read Gary wise's article on the sideboard and it really sounds attractive.
I will let you know when I sign up and see if I could get ahold of a ring or 2.

Yes, Gary Wise is quite frikken right in his article. I was one of the skeptics and thought the whole thing was retarded. Then I figured I'd give it a try and from there I was drawn in. It is so incredibly addictive!

I have a MP casual deck of which Aladdin's Ring is an integral part.

Yeah what format are we talking here? I mean, any format where Voltaic Key is legal could make Aladdin's Ring kind good right? Some kind of monoblack thing with Coffers for mega-mana (but what to do about Wasteland and Strip Mine?) along with Grim Monolith.

Or you could use an elf-ball type design for the mana, freeing you from the Wasteland issue but putting you in kind of a scary situation with mass removal efects. Another good green creature for this purpose is Elder Duid (with "3G: Untap target artifact, creature or land.) Maybe Nature's chosen if you have any white creatures in your deck.

Yeah I know these are crazy ideas, and I know this wasn't really intended as a deck-making forum, but I don't play MTGO at the moment and I wanted to chime in.

Okay SeFro. I now have an Aladdin's Ring. Picked it up in my 7th League(Also picked up a foil Counterspell WooHoo). I am actually trying to use it in the league with no success.

played a game this morning with my boomstick deck and actually got it into play. Boy was it fun. Boom die thieving magpie. Boom die Dakmor Lancer. Boom Die Air Elemental. Way to much fun for early in the morning.
