BOK cycle of cards

I was going through the spoiler and noticed there's a cycle of cards that have "<creature type> Offering (You may play this card any time you could play an instant by sacrificing a <creature type> and paying the difference in mana costs between this and the sacrificed <creature type>. Mana cost includes color.)

There's one for goblins, foxes, rats, moonfolk, and snakes. I think it seems pretty interesting. Any thoughts?

I think it's cool that Wiz Co brought us new creature types.
Okay, so Goblins and is not new and neither are Snakes and rats but at least there's more of an emphesis on them than old stand-bys like Wizards/Elves/Zombies/Soldiers.

The "Offering" ability adds to the Magical feel of how the game is played. The ability itself, to me, is definitly a 'casual' hook more so than for tourney type players.

I love the blue one, though it scares me a bit. Its ability is more green than blue, and it works too well with the other moonfolk. I'll be trying it out.

The Red one seems like it could be played, possibly in constructed or block.

The Green on has 'broken combo' written all over it. Well not literally, but you know what I mean.

I don't like the fact that the ability is being allowed to all colours. This kind of mechanic always seemed pretty green to me. I refuse to like it until Green is given a decent undercosted flyer!!!!

Strikes me more as a black ability other then anything. Sacrificing the pawns for the ultimate fatty power.

Of all the cycles in BoK the Shoals are the most interesting, followed closely by Genjus. Sickening Shoal is an awesome card. This thing along with the Green shoal fit right into a reanimator deck.

At your end of Turn I'll discard this Verdant Force to caste Nourishing Shoal to gain 8 life. 1st main phase I'll caste Dark Ritual and Exhume targeting Verdant Fat and Unstoppable Force, then burn for 1 leaving me at 27 life with a 1st turn fatty of destruction...your turn pilgrim.

Huh, never really thought about the ability in the "Offering" being specific to a color. I just looked at the associated cards Patron of <creature type> and thought it fit in. Plus, I think the Patron's aren't uniform in p/t or cc so I thought they did some balancing to get it there.

I do like the Shoals and the Genju cards. The 5-color Genju card that affects Legendary(?) lands is just interesting in itself to me :)

Genju of the Realm {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}
Legendary Enchant Land
{2}: Enchanted land becomes a legendary 8/12 Spirit creature with trample until end of turn. It’s still a land.
When enchanted land is put into a graveyard, you may return Genju of the Realm from your graveyard to your hand.

I don't know about it's potential dollar value but I like owning the card.

I really like this card too. It is a cool addition to prismatic/domain decks.
