Rough Idea, based on the combo Blightcutter/Darkest Hour.
I know it's pretty bad, its just an idea.
Any thoughts?

4 Spellbane Centaur Protection for blue bounce
4 Samite Elder Protection for creatures without pro black
4 Devoted Caretaker Protection for DH
2 Tsabo's Assassin BB might be tough
4 Nantuko Blightcutter Probably need Wild Mongrel's to help these guys, maybe drop the enforcer's and assassin's for them.
2 Mystic Enforcer

4 Harrow
4 Rampant Growth

4 Darkest hour
4 CoP: Black

Some lands.

Thanks

What do you do? Stay up nights thinking what strange card can I build a deck around? I think it would be better to go U/W/G to make better use of Blue's threshold building abiity. You can use shifting skies just as well as Darkset Hour. Consider Northern Paladin in place of assassin. just some suggestions.

I just feel sorry for unused cards, who else is gonna use "Samite Elder". Sometimes I try to use certain cards just because I like the artwork, so keep these things in mind when you see my deck lists. :)

I tried to find a way to use "Mortal Combat" in T2, but it made me convulse.

You always have orginal ideas and that's so great.

I hope you enter my tribe's contest.

Anyway, how about Alter Reality. That could go it the version
rkoelsch suggested. SlieghtCutter?

Just a thought......

Like this maybe?

Slight-Blight

4 Basking Rootwalla
4 Wild Mongrel
4 Spellbane Centaur
4 Nantuko Blightcutter
2 Llawan, Cephalid Empress

4 Fact or Fiction
4 Careful Study
2 Compulsion

4 Alter Reality
4 Shifting Sky

Maybe reduce the number here and add a couple Roar of the Wurm.

4 Yavimaya Coast
8 Island
12 Forest

OMG! I just realized - no Counter spells.

This is the problem with building decks like this. When you have the combo it is a beautiful thing but otherwise it is just a bunch of junk cards. Now Balancing Act started out like this and it can be very competetive. Okay lets try and fix this

-2 Forest
-2 Shifting Sky
-1 Fact or Fiction
-1 Spellbane Centaur

+4 Circular Logic
+2 Mystic Snake

I think with all the search you can get buy with less land maybe one of each would be better. I really feel Shifting Sky is the less important part of the combo. I am not sure if it works with the Empress. This is the part that I am looking at: When Llawan, Cephalid Empress comes into play, return all blue creatures your opponents control to their owners' hands.
Your opponents can't play blue creature spells.
If you have a Shifting Sky set to Blue when you play Llawan she will return creatures but won't prevent non blue creatures from being played.

That sounds good.

I had Mystic Snake in at first but then I thought - if I have the
Empress out I won't be able to cast it.

Can you use Alter Reality on Llawan to make the creatures it targets green, for instance?

I guess I dont understand the deck very much Griffith, why is Bliightcutter in there?

I think you get it, it's just a weak idea. :)

Shifting Sky, naming blue

Alternate Reality(blue) Blightcutter

Nantuko Blightcutter: Creature-Insect Druid 2G 2/2

Protection from blue. Threshold- Nantuko Blightcutter gets
+1/+1 for each blue permanent your opponents control.

That's it, weak.

Can you Alter llawan while she's being cast? That might be looking into....

Bounce all (or most) of your oppenents creatures, then deny them from being played again.

Is it possible?

I don't think so, because Alter Reality say's target permanent.
Empress wouldn't be a permanent until after resolution.

You would have to go back to Sleight of Mind which affected spells or permanents. Then it wouldn't be type 2.

The CIP ability triggers and is placed on the stack.
The Empress becomes a permanent before the CIP ability resolves.
At that point, you can Alter Reality the Empress.

Since CrystalKeep doesn't have the wordings yet, I'm going by the Apprentice Torment update. It says Alter Reality can affect permanents AND spells. If the latter is true, then you should be able to Alter Reality the Empress as it is being cast so when it comes into play, the CIP effect will be whatever color you set it to.

Hmmm....could that 4UU combo work? Im thinking with the Blightcutter slowing them down (And other protection from _____ creatures) Llawan could be the game winner.
